o2 only stared selling this phone this week and only got 500 in stock for orders taken over the phone for the week. It isnt there fault how many they get and carnt judge how many people will call up for one and how many will go to stop so all cust serivce can advise you to do is to call back you would have been given one of the few that they got in if you had sepent over a £100 per month so its obv that you dont send that kind a money so F**K OFF to orange i hope you and your family are very happy there...

Well jon, i have decided to go for the W810i on Orange instead of Vodafone. My mate got his today and the menus are alot better. Phone is coming tomorrow so can't wait!

I have cancelled my O2 contract as was sick of being messed about. And before all the O2 lovers out there start shouting saying its not O2's fault then maybe the phone not being in stock isn't their fault, but constantly telling customers to call back isn't good customer service. I been trying for weeks now. I signed up all my family to O2 several years ago but today they lost 4 good customers. I am sure i ain't alone in feeling this way.

But on the bright side, i have a brand new phone coming tomorrow!!!

          to who me
you have 14 days by law to return the phone if you do this the upgrade is then canceled on your acc and you a fine to upgrade again if you so wish if you have been told by o2 that you will get the phone for free they must leave a note on your acc saying this i would take the phone back give it a week and call back up and upgrade

thanks lee for your suggestion, but changing the theme doesnt get rid of the crappy vodaphone menus just changes everything else around them and makes the dull looking voda menus stick out even more...

i hope vodaphone reads this and in the future decide to leave the menus alone.

Sonnyericsson have the designers to make it look good and show off the colours it can display rather than vodaphones dull black and white ones,

im still deciding if i should keep this phone, its good but compared to my p910i before it dosent feel like an upgrade more of a degrade but there both totally different. both have pros and cons, this phone has great cam, small, good battery.

p910i has exceptional phone quility on call sound and great display and touch screen.

may wait for k800 or get nokia n80 cant go wrong with a smart phone.

                  To jon,

I have checked Sony Ericsson website and on the download section you can download new themes for your W810i and in the screen-shots it shows new icons. Have you tried this? The phone deserves a good looking menu!

its good because it will now be more masculine in color, not like the w800. however the price should not be too expensive since it has the same features and functions with w800.

What's the difference between this and the w800i? From what I can tell it's pretty much the same phone. Same features, memory card and everything else. The only differences I can spot (besides the black) is the heightened talk time on the 810 and the lack of a lens cover for the camera.

Let me know as I work in the telco industry and need to draw a comparison asap.

                            Thank you!

Retrix - I think I saw it flashing from the camera button a few times but I wasn't here when it was charging. I'll report back when I charge it.

Parm - went out tonight and used the phone with light on for photos. I turned the light on in the camera settings. There was no blinking on and off unlike when I turn it on in the activities menu.

Johnnybegood - The quality is a bit naff for me too - I was in clubs and taking photos with the camera light on. However people were moving and I notice a delay between pushing the shutter and capturing the image. When the person was still it came out brill - the photos were crystal clear if I used autofocus too! However if people moved or the lights were strobing it looks a little pixelated - if you view it on the phone in horizontal mode it looks better too.

Ayli (sorry if I spelt it wrong) - I did install the SE file manager but uninstalled it when I was finished yesterday. It was today I found I can only rename/move photos whilst plugged in to the PC. I didn't reinstall anything and plugged it in the PC, selecting File Transfer mode. I run Windows XP SP2. It picked the phone up - two drives, Phone and Phone Mem I believe. One's the memory card while the other's just internal memory or something like that.

                                  Hello,

will this work as a plug and play usb mass storage device? No driver updates needed? It can be used on any computer?

If it doesnt Ill probably go with nokia as it supports that feature.

                                    ***** hi all,

just to say i got this phone a few days ago from vodaphone, in my opinion its a great phone for music and photos just video quality aint that great. which im a bit dissapointed at considering how both samsung and nokia phones are capable of such as d600 and n70, and theyve been out some time now2.. but sony wins on everything else and the battery life is amazing,

                                    just one question...
does anyone know how i can get rid of the crappy vodaphone live dull boring looking menus?? you can change the themes around but the icons look crap, please help make my phone that little bit better :-)

                                    thanks jon ******

Has anybody got this phone from Vodafone yet? I am just about to order but when checking the Interactive Video on Vodafones web site the menus look crap? Can anybody confirm what the menus are like on the Vodafne network? If i watch the videos for the W800 and W900 the menus look normal.
