its such a shame cos i really like the phone so i went out and got one but then i was really really disappointed with the quality of the speaker...it was nothing compared to my old k750 and my smasung u600
such a let down for a walkman phone

This phone is overrated tripe. I'd much rather have the cheaper W610i. Though 3G capabilites would be a nice commodity, I don't really need it, the 610i also has a better camera due to the flash and autofocus that the 880i is lacking. I'd reccomend S/E putting higher spec cameras in there higher spec phones.

back ...the phone i have is se w880i with 2Gb memory card .... the battery work 5 up to 7 days charge about how much is used the phone ....

I hade the K700 before, in fact still have it. I twas my first experience of sony ericsson, and i must say it was love at first byte haha. I have had motorolla, samsung, nokia and lg phones before and i have to say i was fairly impressed with the phone in terms of gaming, internet, email, blue tooth, modem, infrared and all other tools and applications and over usage of the phone. Last week i upgraded to the W880I, and must say first off, learning curve from previous phone wasnt to hard, slim look excellent, keys small but stand out easy to use, 3G now available-network dependent, blue tooth works fairly well, usb cable now def. a plus and easier and faster to use, also memory card better, explorer interface to folders much better and more detail, had to download previously developer tools for more access to phones files over all i think a good phone.
I have only three dissapointments:
No radio, although was told it had one, and honestly for a multimedia phone one almost expects it standard, but there you go, now radio.
No infrared, used it alot on prev phone, dont have to carry a bluetooth dongle arround... especially for laptop.
and music sounds bad and tinny on loudspeaker, BUT to be fair, the headphones supplied is excellent, and sound quality is fab!! which basically it is a walkman, so headphones would be worn anyways...
so there my ten cents worth, haha i like it!

i love this phone. its design is tight! so thin and classy with stainless steel cover. theres just 2 things that bother me. the loudspeaker which is not loud enough and the sound volume which is also not loud ebough. i had a Nokia N91 before i purchesed a W880, W880's sound is nothing compared to N91. Sad but true..

Hi,
Has anyone had any problems with the camera on the w880. today i pressed the silver camera button and all of a sudden my fone went completely blank and then rebooted itself and eva since this keeps happening so i can no longer access my camera everytime i try the phone switches off and thjen back on. just wanted to know if anyone else had the same problem?? the phone was boxed brand new bought from ebay an unwanted upgrade but the box did not contain a warranty certificate.

Well guys, this is the best and most beautiful mp3 phone you will ever get at the moment! The phone design is so sleek and eye catching! I got the silver colour one! It's very elegant. Metallic stainless steel silver cover with stainless steel keypad. With the white keypad backlight, the phone is damn contrast and sharp especially during night time or at dark area. It's like a diamond radiant. It's so beautiful! With stylish walkman 2.0 software, superb phone design...what else can you ask! It's more than an ipod Nano!
Btw, i also got the SE tiny speakers as free gift. It comes with the phone in the package! haha.

No, W880 does not have a flash in order to keep it very thin.
If you need flash you should consider W610, W810 or W850

No Flash or light at all.
As for loudspeakers, they are loud enough, but the sound is very tinny. Kind of like when you hear someone with their walkman earphones turned up real loud.

Does the camara have flash at all?
I read the review and it has no auto focus, but didn't see anything about a flash, does it have any?
