    @ nick
    First of all you can use any type of 3.5mm headphones with the w960 just connect it to the adaptor. Plus because of the adaptor you can use any aftermarket headphones and use it to talk on the phone lyke a regular headset i dont think you can do this with the n95. Secondly the nokia n95 has many bugs and nokia just loads the phone with features to hide the bugs from consumers but it is in fact still there, such as the n95 8 gb they did not fix the bugs but just installed the 8gb to shield consumers from the many problems it faces. Third the w960 can also stream online radio through Wlan. And the quality between the n82 and n95 fone camera and w960 do not differ as much

      oh yeah and u get a built in microphone on the n82 if you use the adapter, but the choice is always there if you want to use your own headphones.

      thats a music phone, except its not :)

        no because the w960 just isnt.

        its not just because YOU dont want a 3.5mm jack that makes the w960 better. MOST people want it, such as myself.

        you also totally ignored my 3.5g point.

        and you dont get higher data charges with 3.5g! the pages just load up faster!!!
        the only reason why u might be charged mroe is because you get carried away with how fast it is!

        this phone is less capable than the n82 okay!

          Quick, everyone that want's a screen protecter or a whole phone protecter should get one from http://www.invisibleshield.com and they are having a sale, everything 50% off. And also they got the shield for w960 finally, the screen protect itself is $5.97, and full body cover is $12.47.

            Nick! Your first point we have bin through 3 times. I want the microphone, so its makes no odds to me where i plug it in!
            Secondly, its covered by warrantry, so if it breaks ill have it fixed, which is more than i can say for most of my headphones. 3.5mm jack makes no difference to me.

            Secondly, so can we with a 3rd party application. Woo. sorry, several third party applications support it. Sorry, not big news, been around for a WHILE.

            Thirdly, it can download songs faster online? Oh yes, cause i want to pay for 1. those data charges, and 2. for the extortionate price of the music? nah im alrite. Downloading speeds are quite ample thankyou. Id rather download from my pc llike most normal people with USB 2.0 meaning a gigabyte every 3 mins, which is fast enough for me taa.
            Soo those your only arguments? or r u going to acknowledge that the w960i is a better MUSIC phone then the N82?

              @nick

              The W960i is a very powerful device with outstanding music capabilities and a good all-rounder in other respects. It would have been nice to see a HSDPA-enabled implementation of 3G, but the ability to connect to Wi-Fi compensates for this to some extent. It would have been nice to have quadband too. It also has a tendency (like all Symbian phones) to sometimes be a little slow and shaky, especially when running applications. Nevertheless, the W960i is in many ways outstanding, and it's only because it's so good that these issues are worth pointing out. Possible alternatives include the LG Viewty, Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia N81 and maybe even the Apple iPhone.

                okay the convenience of having a standard headphone jack is beyond necesarry explanation. surely sony erricson should have added this if it really cared about your music experience. Basically they can charge you if the adapter breaks now.

                secondly the n82 can stream internet radio from..well radios across the world at a really decent quality. at 384kbps, this isnt possible. (i know that because on my n95, the radio is awesome in 3.5g)

                3)n82 can download songs quicker online.

                well there you go. three huge points any music phone should be able to do, remember, the n82 isnt even a music phone

                  @ Srinath...
                  U use GPRS service? If yes then i can say dat it happens wid slow GPRS service!
                  I'll suggest u to use Opera 3 or 4! But still downloadin wud be a problem via Opera 8.65 that W960i has... I faced that problem 'Xml parasing failed' while openin Dotsis and Gsmarena via GPRS BUT when i opened these sites via WLAN or WiFi then it worked...
                  By the way Srinath are u from India as there's no 3G connection there, which is a big problem! U can also use Opera mini mod which is very useful for downloadin... PEACE.

                    @MeRo
                    Firstly, stop with all the "z"s. Its annoying. Secondly, you will probably have to reinstall the firmware. So use the pc suite and back up all your data and then go to the update service, and reinstall the firmware.

                      @nick
                      Firstly, we are comparing the N82 not N95 8gb. secondly, sure you could buy as good headphones (these are really top of the range headphones) buts its all gonnna cost ya.
                      Thirdly, admittedly looks dont effect the sound, but thats just for kicks.

                      I have put forward several reasons why w960i is better, and you have yet to say why the N82 is better than the w960i.

                      Make a point, or backdown.

                          dani, because the phone is labelled "walkman" it does not mean it is immediately better than the n82 at music does it.

                          also @ pointless, yes the 8gb is a good additon, but okay i could use the same argument for n95 8gb. The headphones is an irrelevant point because you can buy far better headphones which have a 3.5mm connection.

                          just because the phone looks good, doesnt make it a better music player, my cat looks good but it doesnt do anything

                            it's perfect.the exact features of a phone i would like to have but most phones don't say if the font size are adjustable to small ,med, or large. if large, just how large does the w960 have? comparing to the w910, is the font size the same? or is the font size like that of the n95,wherein i could hardly read the text message even with my glasses on, i would like to upgrade but most of the time the font size sure does stop me...help

                                Nick nick nick, we've bin through this.

                                Advantages & disadvantages are opposite sides of a coin, an advantage of the w960 is a disadvantage of the n82.

                                advantages of w960i:
                                *deicated music keys
                                *excellent music player walkman 3.0
                                *great bundled headphones
                                *8 gig memory included
                                *megabass etc
                                *moods
                                *track ID
                                *looks good
                                *deciated walkman access key
                                i assume the sound quality is equal to the N82 as they both run Symbian, and so is excellent, although i would like to compare them face to face. In any case it has:
                                *great music quality.

                                Is that enough advantages for you for now?

                                :)

                                  From all the Nokia and SE phones I've ever used and tested this is the best phone of all. When compared to N95 (8GB) SonyEriccson far more advanced and user friendly. Specially Power saving when Connected to WiFi net works and Bluetooth PAN networks SE is much ahead of all the other phones. Business card reader in the W960 and P1i is very effective as I've used the same software with Nokia N95 and N77, they take ages to process a card and even that sometimes get hanged. Over all best Business/Walkman phone ever made.

                                      Thanks for the reply. But I know how to do it that way.

                                      The thing is, I use the vibration mode always, even when not in silent mode. But at times, I want to be able to put it in complete silent mode (no sound, no vibration). I just wanted to know if there was an easier way of doing this. It used to be so easy using profiles. :(

                                        Why there is no more rating of this phone on the home page? The popularity of this phone is decreasing? I think this phone is very good, but the price is too expensive.
