For the people that were wrongly informed... i repeat that the W960i CAN play H.264 and H.263.

    Da K800 and W850 are 3G and so is da W960i, so i think that the internet speed is the same fast. Also the speed depends sometimes from da browzer. Da Opera and Opera Mini are very fast. My W810i default browzer SUCKS! and so i use da OperaMini 4

      Note:

      (Below in the 2nd dissadvantage, in the multitasking, i want to add that the Walkman Player was playing music with the visual effects on, 17 files where transfered with the Bluetooth at the same time and the Quick Office was also running...)

          Yo cuz. The only bad things about the W960i that i found are:

          1) Auto Focus and Flash cannot be used for recording video. But the video quality, even at 15fps is in good levels.

          2) It is not possible to change the typing language when writing SMS, e-mails or when editing and creating .doc documents. I mean that, if you set the phones language in English you cannot type in any other language unless you change again the phones language from the Control Panel. To avoid that you can type with Virtual Keyboard witch has many languages. It can be fixed with an firmware update.

          3) Also the W960i boot time is not always stady. It can be differ from the usage. After heavy usage and multitasking (Wi Fi, Bluetooth, Camera, 1 Java game, Walkman Player, Messaging and some menus all open at the same time) i turned my W960i off and then i activated it again and used my W810i stopwatch (or what is called) and by the time i pressed the activating button till it loaded fully, the stopwatch showed 1 Minute and 10 Seconds! And after a second reboot, the stopwatch showed only 59 Seconds.

          4) The loudness in the headphones could be much higher but something in the phones software doesn't allow it. The sound is brilliant and loud but not loud enough to hurt your ears.

            !! The CAN play H.264 !!

            The W960i CAN play also these video formats: H.263, WMV9, REAL VIDEO, MPEG4, H.264. It sais it in the W960i manual!
            (and DivX ONLY with 3rd party software)

                  The W850 d-pad cracking was a common problem with that phone,twas a nice device when it came out i liked the White.
                  Well depends what you want in a phone, N81 is aimed at the MUSIC AND GAMING JUNKY who wants to load lots of apps to increase functionality,load high quality videos (h.264 ,which W960 cant play), and also if you like to Browse the Web. Whereas W960 is aimed at Music person who is not too fussy about Audio quality, Gaming, but wants a phone with good features. W960 aint realy made for "Techies" like the N81.

                    Hi all...I just bought this GREAT mobile. I have a problem with installing software becuase it says there is a missing signature for the software. Even TOMTOM 6. It starts the installation bar but doesnt continue installation and closes app---

                        OH! And our Nokias memory is expandable to 32GB!!
                        Slow Interface? You have never used N95-8GB, N82 or N81 have you? All of them boot up in around 20-22secs and open apps a lot faster. I know for a fact W960 takes around 30secs to fully boot.

                            it was Nokia who copied SE in the first place when K750i/W800i came out Nokia goes copys them with the N70/6233 ???

                            and you keep on going on about Nokia's *Stereo Speakers* in Phones ..man! Stereo Speakers ? there POINTLESS anti-social ...surely the whole point of a Music Phones Is the EARPHONES! thats were Walkman Phones RULE! theres not 1 Nokia that can compete with WALKMAN EARPHONES!

                            and N82/N95 8GB/N81/N95 are all crap in Music this is why:
                            Crap battery life
                            slow user interface
                            lack of music software
                            lack of Musicy earphones

                            SE Music Phones have:
                            Walkman Software:
                            Great battery life
                            Walkman earphones
                            Stable Software
                            HUGE memory expansion
                            memory cards up to 8GB!




                            Nokia just cant make music phones...or camera Phones...N-Series are all all-rounders but masters of none

                                Nice one pointless,more of your pointless points lol!
                                The navi-wheel is very easy to use,it may have corners but you need to use it to get what i mean, i-phone is Touchscreen yes but thats not for user-friendly purposes, bare in mind people found it not user-friendly but it was "COOL" REMEMBER even new i-Pods stil use Navi-wheel so dont play dumb.
                                N70 was also mid-end, remember the 1st THREE Nseries? N70,N90 and N91. The N90 was the High-end, N70 mid-end and N91 was a Flagship Music Phone. And again N73 was mid-end, at the time there was: N80 high-end Multimedia Device with 352x416 res screen, N93 Flagship device, and N91 Music Flagship.
                                N81 maybe 140g but advantages are a great battery, dedicated Music, Gaming and Multimedia keys, both 3G and EDGE with 850mhz band support, BOTH WiFi b and g standards (g- being newer and faster), a great 16million colour screen, which is bright at 50% and seriously colourful and crysp. 2 3D speakers, a 369mhz processor plus a DSP DAC for crysp, loud and clear sound oh and the Ngage part of this phone is amazing.
                                What i dont like is that when SE announced W960 they called it THE NEXT BIG THING only to find 2year old hardware, a bit more ram, a camera and a new Walkman player ( a beautifuly layed out media player which resembled PSP UI, with a lot of exciting stuff). The Walkman3.0 being the best part, THEN SE makes their customers wait 6-MONTHS for technology thats been implemented 4times before? Do you think thats fair to you SE Users? Paying a premium price (in some places same price as N95-8GB) FOR a W950 with a bit more ram, same hardware, a buggy camera thrown in and with just a new W-player? If you do find it fair then im very sorry for being a pain-in-the-you know what but i think SE should have spiced it up for you maybe add atleast HSDPA, WIFI-G and Demand Paging (ESPECIALY)

                                  Did u no that "paying" for a good review is illegal? It's called bribery, and so is kinda not allowed and if found out there would be serious consequences...lol!
                                  I suppose that carrying a 140gram phone around has its advantages, like it doubles as a good paper weight ...LMAO!

                                  The Naviwheel what a rip off of the scroll wheel (...LOL!) which is not as easy to use as it has corners (need to turn at corners meaning slower and more akward). As for it being more intuitive than a jog dial or touch screen: simply LMAO! Now that is purefanboyism...ROFL. Guess what apple have done? moved to touch screen over a scroll:makes sense, touch screen afterall are really easy to use...LOL!

                                  The speed of the model varies a huge amount between the handsets for some reason, some are really slow. The N95 i saw took much longer to enter apps, but could not run as many as UIQ.

                                  As for the N73 being a mid end phone, i think you find it wasn't. It was a high end phone: the successor of the N70 and better than the N80 in my opinion (don't care for wifi), and was one of the only pocketable N series of the time. It was a vice flagship, behind the massive N93 and a head of the N80 (bigger screen, slightly better camera) ... LOL!

                                    hi everyone.

                                    i've been waiting for this phone and finally its out. so now, im deciding between k770 and this phone. but the k770 has this negative feature that the back cover gets loose easily if im not wrong. so i dont think im getting the k770 anymore.

                                    so to whoever who already owns this w960, could you please help me here by telling me is there any particular negative feature abt this phone?

                                      I'l have to get back to you on that one the next time i convert on my PC. But realy try .avi format its better IMO. 900mb per movie will chow down even 8GB very quickly. Ive even got South Park episodes on my phone 30-36mb each, great quality in both Real Media and avi.

                                        Thats a good and hard question. It is hard to find the best settings for each phone and each video format, because you have to convert a video many many times at different settings each time and it takes much time. For now i found that the best video settings for W960i in mp4 format are 240x320 pixels, 1024Kbps video data rate, 119 or 128Kbps aac sound and 29.97 or 30 FPS.
                                        I'll try to find the best settings for other formats...
