Anonymous, 27 May 2008wat are mods any onemods... the mods are where people have found the phone slow,ie using the touch screen and having to wait while it configures. so they get some software to flash the phone, to speed up the reaction time when you use touch screen. If you find that you have ssx 3 already on the phone this means the speed and reation time is a lot faster than the earlier version.My friend had the earlier version and found it slow compared to mine, so he flashed it with software and now its working a treat. be warned though there is a risk to flashing the phone and this could lock it permenantly.

hey guys i am gonna send a mail to sony ericsson (developers) about all the problems and bugs so if any of ul have any problems or no of any bugs or want any new features to be added in the next firmware update pls pls post them here with the heading problems (so that its easy to find)
hopefully they listen anyways worth a try guys so help me to help u and all w960i lovers

I've bought this phone just recently, and think it's great the mods have been upgraded. So i dont have to flash it to improve the speed of the touch screen. I've also downloaded tomtom and have a agps that works really well with it. So this phone gets my vote.

henry i've visit the k850 forum and saw a couple of complaints regarding the three touchscreen/softtouch that our w960 also possess.we may encounter this problem in the future.

dont you see "resize" when you press edit picture? or it goes directly to photo dj?
if you see the broken lines around the photo and press "more"
you will see "picture options" "slide" "layout" "advanced" and "message tips"
if you press "picture options" you will see "replace" "timing" "rotate" "resize"
"edit" "information" and "delete"
just select "resize" and you will see "picture scaling" 640x480, 320x240,160x120....
if you will choose 160x120....you can resize your photos up to 4kb.
a normal 3.2mp photo size is 600+kb and above.imagine resizing it to 4kb.
anyway wario we can only send maximum of 100kb per mms.in w960 we can only send maximum of 10 photos in one mms so better resize the photo only up to 320x240(usually 10-20kb)

wario sorry for the late response and welcome.
you have to see the broken lines first.you will see that by tapping the photo.
if you will not do that the only option that you will have is the option to edit the content of the mms(such as text,putting smileys or other icons) and not the photo alone.

i juz buy w960..da phone was great,but i didnt know where to get theme for da phone,anyone of you can tell me where to download theme for diz phone?n can i give personal ring tone for grouping contact instead of doing it one by one?coz its take time if i set personal ring tone for all of them...

Okay , now I'm really considering this phone, hearing from you peoples. but I'm still not too sure bout the touchscreen, I'm really interested in the Samsung soul mostly because it's touch navigation and the 5mp, its pretty crazy, but I'm also not too sure bout the quality of the camera compared to other 5 mp phones. if only the W960i had 5mp then I'd buy this one ryt away. All in all, its up to the w960 and the f480 now.

Hey, I have the firmware CXC162037R9J005. Can anyone tell me why my track ID does not work, it says 'Music Recognition Service Failed, resend clip? however it did used to work. Also I cannot scan my networks more than three times because the scan button becomes disable, then I have to turn off my phone and then switch it back on again. Last thing when I dial someone it sometimes does not connect it makes a busy tone and then it disconnects or it says that it’s the wrong number when I know it’s the correct number and the person I am calling is not busy (because I had the other phone with me).
I will be grateful if someone can help me. Thank you.

jack, 26 May 2008i have to tell you that even though this phone might be a l... moreThanx man i'll do that once i have time.but heres the thing i think this phone is awesome thats why im considering getting it even tho i love my w850 which has grown into my skin.i type all my forum posts includin this 1 from it.& all u c in the w850 forum is mostly people who have this phone complementing how great it is(including me).while in the w960 some say this phone is great & a lot r people who r havin problems usin the phone or experiencing minor glitches & offcourse not to forget all the sore nokia users who r just jealous becoz this phone kicks all their nokia asses they wasted their money on.u kno.this is wat got me confused wat to do.thanx a lot dude.
I would also like to get revenant's opinion.
