Japan has awesome cutting edge mobile phone technology, but its locked into Japan.
LG, Moto and Samsung are all battling it out with new cutting edge 2011 technology, such as dual cores,3D, faster cpu etc, etc. This is all great for the end user and will increase sales and profits. But it also causes new problems and may take 6 months/one year to iron out the new problems with updates and bug fixes.
SE has taken a different approach and I believe this may be its best year financially in 4/5 years. SE is using existing proven hardware, which needs little fixes. SE have also beautiful new designs. And as you know, most people buy phones for looks and feel. This seems like a winning combination to me. And also the new Experia play.

World's 1st bendable oled(parent of amoled) screen was displayed by Sony(check wikipedia).
And Sony is one who developed World's 1st organic batteries(check out Sony Global website sony.net).
On Sony's Global website every month u will find 2-3 new technologies mentioned as developed by Sony. They still develop great new things but the problem is that they sideline their own technologies rather than promoting them or using them broadly.

Bada is like a mini version of Android and is not designed to be better than Android, as its not. But Bada is 100% stable with no lag or freezing and with great battery life. I personally don’t like Android as its google spyware and spamware annoy me, plus Android has terrible battery life. Bada suits me for its simplicity, but nice simple interface, with great battery life, but again, not as good or as flashy as Android. This is my choice and opinion only. These interfaces are the design of future Symbian also. So, it seems they all copied Apple. But my point is, Bada is Samsung’s propriety software, designed wholly for its products. You must know of all the Android problems with Samsung, SE etc and the necessary changes.
SE X10 does NOT have a camera flash, it has a camera light ONLY.
Samsung was the first with 8 and 12mp camera phones. Also the first with HD recording mobile phone. First to use Amoled screen technology. (not the inventor)

Enough of this rubbish of who invented what etc. Yes, Samsung utilizes existing technologies and modifys and improves it, such as Oled. Sony has not invented much new technology wise also in the last 20 years, just utilizes it and improves it.
Everybody knows Sony is a great company and dominated the world of technology for almost 30 years. But we have really gone of the subject, wern’t we talking about mobile phones.
