Just a heads-up people:
If you have made up the mistake of installing the latest ICS firmware for Arc S (or you just bought a new one preinstalled with ICS) and you want to go back to GB 2.3.4, the flashtool process is not that simple anymore, you'll have to ROOT your 4.0.4 updated phone previously, otherwise the "flashback" won't work. Remember that a faulty procedure may brick your phone and rooting voids warranty (just if you care about it). You've been warned.

i think it has the minimum SAR value. just 0.66 W/kg (head)......good point compared to others.

ATTENTION : IT is not confirmed that this phone will not be upgraded to 4.1.
Sony says its investigating 4.1 for all headsets, and it should be removed asap

I updated mine and I don't like ICS. It's not stable. So I went back to Gingerbread, w/c is better :-D

PoT-ER :), 19 Aug 2012I just updated my phone to the latest version [4.1.B.0.587]... moreWhile I usually don't post here (far too many nags and stupid requests...), I am quite interested in your opinion in regards to the latest ICS update.
1). How 'deep' is the Facebook integration on there? From what I'm reading it's a lot deeper in the GUI than GB, for example, and I'm wondering if the ICS update just now has made it any different? I ask this as the FB integration into the GUI apparently eats quite a bit of RAM.
2). While the new ICS update has addressed response time (notably the dialer app), if you were to compare it to the stock GB OS, how would you rate it?
3). Video recording; does it remain relatively smooth (ie, 30fps) with shake-assist enabled?
While I ain't a power user myself, I do get kinda picky when anything gives off any lag. I guess I might be better off pinning me hopes on JB (with Project Butter), but yeah... For now I'm just mulling over whether I should wean myself off GB or not...

I just updated my phone to the latest version [4.1.B.0.587] and these are the major changes:
- New baseband .77 (the previous was 72)
- Improved response time [so far...]
- Video recording lag gone and 30 FPS seems to work fine [at least for now]
* LED notification bug REMAINS. It only works for missed calls but not for sms, mails and others. :(
I am satisfied with ICS in my Arc S since I'm not a power user, just a regular one. I suppose power users and gamers don't agree with me, but it's a matter of taste.
If you decide to update to ICS, don't forget to perform a factory reset after updating as some people have said previously.

I doesn't mean you'll brick you phone, it only means you'll have to try more than once (probably). I cannot post external links here (site rules) but doa search and you'll find plenty of guides.
