I do not know what sort of defective batch was provided to these guys, but I have been using this phone for almost a month (bought it on september 7th, and it has been working fine ever since then. No hiccups regarding the capacitive keys, or any overheating of the unit. Anyone who has probably has battery issues, is probably unknowingly running games/apps in the background, or has internet on 24x7. I managed to get 4 days, just by restarting the phone to kill all apps: my total usage was 1 hr of calls, 1/2 an hour of surfing, and about 20 minutes of gaming. If you don't use the phone all the time, then battery is really not bad- its actually very good. No other phone in this price range offers so much (as of today). One of the guys in this forum who had the touch problem, got his phone replaced by the SE service centre.

To all people who are planing to buy this phone, please double check your decision, as some batch of this phone got a heat related issue. I bought mine at the end of August from the Sony center Trivandrum . And it worked perfectly until sep. 20. Later , keypad issues began to show up, when ever phone got heated(either by charging or gaming for certain extend of time or while browsing)And , I must say I was very much satisfied with this "once fantastic " phone But the keypad related problem was a real disaster.
I think the problem is related with a certain batch of this product.( The SE guys are acting very unresponsive even though approx 50 people reported about this issue . proof:

i will get a new se xm in a couple of weeks,actually i am new to android so i dont knw which are the necessary applications need for this phone(mainly audio video player),also i need some tips on battery management,

is it possible to play full hd on this phone,

Those of you like me who did'nt get the extra Dark Blue & Dark Pink covers can be bought seperate now. I bought both colours. They are the genuine S.E. covers which come with a glossy finish as opposed to the matt finish on the standard white or black cover.

for those who have problem with the music settings, download ttpod player(free) which is better than any other music player (even paid). it has lots of equlizer options.
my music player has messed with the album art. it shows random album art with most of the songs, while other media players are showing it correctly, any solution?

Most of them kept on repeating their problem, and others (especially ones marked anonymous) were probably sammy fanboys trying to steer you away from SE. No phone is as good as the xperia mini. There is no problem of vibrating or overheating. I have used this phone for a month, and the only problem I have seen is that because it is tiny, and my palms are fleshy, it is prone to accidental keypresses...;-). But there is no problem in phones bought from proper retailers. I bought mine from The Mobile Store, kolkata. Also, avoid online retailers, as the one who posted the video of the vibrating problem got the phone from flipkart. Try getting it from sony centres, or from a mobile store.

The problems & complaints you are reading here can be found in any phone's comments section.
These are unit specific hardware problem & not batch related problem.
100% perfection can not be there in any product of any brand.
Don't worry.

d GPU Adreno 205 (in Xperia Mini) is 5x more powerful than Adrena 200 (in Wildfire S) and don't forget d 1Ghz processor frequency... Xperia is 1 seriously powerful smartfone!! how can somebody compare it to htc Wildfire S???

Has the memory card been in other phones before ? If so, you could back up all your data on the memory card to say, your home computer, then re format your memcard.
Mine has been in about 3-4 different phones prior without having been formated.
Worth a try if the problem persists.
