Although if they do make the move, I'd welcome it with open arms. The SE p1i still is my favourite phone, over a year on.

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2009Sorry to tell you but there is no windows mobile or apple b... moreIt depends on what the phone's hardware is like. Nowadays, with the X1 and Touch HD, the hardware has finally caught up to the winmo operating system.

The X1 is brilliant. It's a hardcore business phone developed by a manufacturer who have perfected multimedia.

If God had a phone, it would be the X1

              Hi all,
Can anybody suggest me. I searched a lot.......i want a phone of price similar to E-71...Which ph is better...among all these..?
              1) Nokia - 71.
              2) HTC -3232 3G.
              3) Samsung - Omnia.
              4) Asus P - 565.
              5) Sony Ericsson - Xperia.
              6) LG - Arena.
              7) BlackBerry - Storm.
              8) HTC - HD
              9) Nokia - 5800 Xpress
              10)Samsung - Innov.

I am looking for a phone with max features....... Preferring touch phones- overall a best ph mentioned above against a Price like E-71.

I found ASUS P - 565 a best phone among all in terms of features at this PRICE....which is equivalent to E-71...Plz suggest me for same.

Thanks for ur Replies & suggestions regarding it..

I've been working with my Xperia for 1 month. There are good news and bad news. Bad one is that this is so awkward to work with. you have to use your both hands. Good one is that Graphics/Video generally Multi-Media are perfect. and there are so many programs and facilities like Wi-Fi, Office, GPS, X-panels, PDF, Java, HandWriting Recognition,... which keep surprising me still after a month. This device is not for phone users this is for computer users.

I would've loved the platform if it wasnt for the errors that I keep getting. Sometimes its the fmail.exe othertimes shell.exe. Have had to restart the phone twice since I got it a week ago. If I manage to ignore error, which I think every windows user has learned to by now, its a perfect platform to integrate with your desktop/laptop. I am loving the my documents and other window type folders and start menu.

It lag a little bit but the screen, the slide keyboard(although not very easy to use) and the size are just awesome. Feels good to hold it too.

Havent had to use the stylus much. Its finger optimized, atleast for me.

Not very impressed with Panels, its useless in my opinion. Its the same ad using the start menu ,only graphical. If these programs on the panels were left open then I wouldve given it a thumbs up.

Camera I dont care much about...2...3...4...5.. infinity megapixels... dont care....

Handsfree Speaker isnt good at all. Sucks big time.

Sound quality on the phone is awesome. Reception is brilliant.

Buttons on the top screen are placed well.. I can tell in the dark which one is which.

Battery life is at best average.

Sending sms's and emails is a breeze. And love the way it goes to an account picker at startup.

Sync's really well with outlook and its quick too. Contact, calender and emails are sync'd without any glitches.

I paid 650$ for it. After one week of using it, I am a happy buyer.

I have it for two weeks now, satisfied with it. It's delivering what is advertising out of the box, with the software version from august 2008. The original software package from SE (august 2008) is not brilliant, but works ok and I gave it two weeks to prove itself. I think SE slowed down the software development for this phone and is only fixing bugs, which are just gone. XDA site has all the updates and upgrades you could think of. This is reason enough for SE to focus on the next device, since very skilled professionals spend their time to develop for this device for free. The hardware is at least similar to HTC phones, so most of the software from HTC works also on X1.
                                  In short:
1)the phone works fine, no problems with reception. 3G-HSDPA works fine, browsing the net is a pleasure thanks to Opera browser.
2)multimedia is fine, can play video up to 800x480 (DVD resolution) just fine in MPEG1-2, DIVX, XVID and X264. TCPMP works fine, although it needs hardware acceleration for X264 video (not available yet), but WMP is fine. Some FLV files work with TCPMP (but newer codecs used now are not recognized).
3)office app are the same, with usual functionality.
                                  4)email works fine, I use gmail pop-smtp.
5)WI-FI is fine, I spend some time at McDonalds to browse with a coffee next to me. Hi5 or Facebook can be accessed superbly from the palm of your hand.
6)GPS is fine, I tried several app and they all work, it's just a matter of maps and the right version with high resolution capability.
7)battery holds for 4 days, with about 1 hour of phone calls and 8 hours of book reading during commute time (2 hours every day) with brightness to minimum ergonomic level.
I will update the ROM in the next days for a performance bump (experienced by all users who did it). I repeat myself, out of the box is more than OK. Probably people forget that technology is prone to failures by design, there is no perfect device (sorry Iphone and Apple fans) on this planet yet. Definitely a good device that keeps you connected.

Affan khan, 23 Apr 2009Very expensive phone ... i cant afford :( It is offered free but I still had to take it back!

I have tried a few units, but all were below my expectation:

                                        - reception is unreliable

                                        - slow response time

                                        - buggy software

                                        - low volume

                                        - lousy battery

I am very familiar with WinmMo, and I still say it is junky OS!
