Anonymous, 05 Apr 2009Disadvantages: 1: poor reception 2: lousy camera ... moreHey, hey! Nice original post man. This phone's really a dud right? So why the hell amI loving it so much. Thanx to the guys over at xda (two big thumbs up to them!!) my phone just turned into a super computer. lol.
Seriously though, for anybody wanting unbiased comments on this phone (cos they give the good and bad), check out their website and I'm glad or maybe it was part of SE's strategy to go with HTC to manufacture this phone, otherwise we would not have all this support from xda. You can overcome most of this phones issues by reading, learning and installing some cab files or flashing ur rom.
Oh yeah, I really like this crappy 65k screen cos it really does play movies sweetly! I'm not saying it's a perfect phone but you can make it as near damn perfect as you like!

Going through all the phone comments, I've realised that there's no perfect phone brand. So, i believe each and everyone of us should make up your own mind.

There's just too many mix feelings about phones. It's better for me to make my own mistakes when buying a phone.

Don't get me wrong, comments are always welcome...

                          Disadvantages:

                          1: poor reception

                          2: lousy camera

                          3: unreliable OS - WinMo

4: outrages quality control - cracked cases

                          5: bad battery performance

                          6: slow performance

                          7: xxK color :)))

                          8: limited memory (internal)

                          Advantages:

1: SE has an excuse - made by HTC

2: SE promised never let HTC make another SE model

3: not made by Sagem (like other SE models)

4: new model is announced already (Idou)

                          5: most people not surpriced

6: offered free with return/echange policy

7: slow sales (not many people got burned with this model)

8: it used to be very expensive

No wonder SE loses money each quarter.

Here is some of what unwired had to say:
In the set of technical specifications  of Xperia X1 we can find everything, or almost everything, that power users may request: full wireless connectivity (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) updated to the latest standards, powerful CPU, quad-band support with the latest technology in wireless broadband (UMTS / HSDPA), a reasonable allocation of memory, a GPS receiver. The battery is  particularly advanced: although the device is extremely small in size, the capacity is 1500 mAh. The responsiveness of the operating system is more than satisfactory, certainly greater than that most smartphones. This feature is very helpful when the Xperia is requested for serious tasks, such as surfing heavy web pages or playing movies in a resolution equivalent to that of the display. Display we said: it’s excellent. Contrast and readability are superior, compared to other devices in category to which this terminal belongs . The visibility of details and texts is guaranteed even in difficult situations (outdoor and under the direct rays of the sun) provided you set backlight  at medium / high level.
A final mention goes to the GPS system implemented in the Xperia . Based on several tests, both on the speed of fixing  and on the usage of  the pre-installed Google Maps, the receiver has shown above average performance. The first fix for satellites took 23 seconds: 7 satellites appear under the sky visible for two thirds (during the tests were close to the veranda of a villa in the countryside). After the first fix, the GPS signal was never lost, even when, back in the lab, we positioned the device about two meters away from the closest window.
