I meant to say that i cannot find track i.d. but their is the standard winmo word predict which is fairly useful,,their no graphic equaliser and s/e needs to get these options sorted in next update.

it's weird if none of the features you mention are available in the X1... did you bought it?
because if my memeory serve me well in Youtube.com i have seen the T9...& TrackID it's kind of available in every S.E. device...
i will be real surprise if S.E. didn't add these standard features & GSMarena didn't realize it.
I really hope the X1 review be GSMarena comes very soon.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970i like the display but i wud not say its the best. toshiba used the same resolution a year earlier.
also i hv tested it and the touchscreen is not very sensitive. (altho yes it is sensitive for a presure sensitive touchscreen)

And i want officially prove not by people who are ... not a single word describe them.I had nokia 7710 which was great phone a bit slow processor and palm treo 750 which is most useful and people on this site still complain and saying everything bad to that phones ...I didn't have any problem with all phones i had (nokia 6600, nokia 7710, nokia n93i y i was fan of nokia not because its nokia because i found that phones was useful for me at that moment,palm treo 750 yea i go for windows mobile and i love it ).So if you ask me if i believe them ? I guess u know that answer,ONE BIG NO!And i am assuming why GSMarena didn't yet publish they review ... just assuming.

brynn, 19 Dec 2008Thanx revenant i was concerned that it would reset the lot ... moresome of the apps, when you install them, say they were intended for a previous version of WinMo, but most of them still work. A lot of apps don't work due to the WVGA resolution, as we know. If you head over to xda-developers.com you can download a free app which emulates a VGA screen (basically just cuts off all the pixels after 640) and it's completely safe, when you launch the app it asks whether you want 640 x 480 or 800 x 480. Might wanna check it out...

All a soft reset... moreThanx revenant i was concerned that it would reset the lot and have to put apps back on xperia etc,,,the free spb panel you get with xperia has it on its a green flower type icon..Now i know what a soft reset does,,you learn something new all the time..Some of the apps worked some need a newer version according to the reply screen..On i go building xperia into media information terminal as well as a fone??

Adiel, 19 Dec 2008And how do you say that??If you don't even own a Xperia how... moredude. don't get me wrong i don't want the iphone. only thing i want is a SE touchscreen phone with a simplistic interface. something u can use on the move. 4 work and play. ur right the iphone is a crappy phone but there is a really cool UI there. X1 is still the shit but if SE can't solve the UI issue they better have an impressive lineup 4 2009. otherwise I'll have 2 hang on 2 this baby a little bit longer.

Compare the functionality and Xperia wins hands down, that awful Iphone is so featureless that I am really amazed how can anyone compare it to Xperia, its like comparing Mercedes with Suzuki...
Don't talk about a set that you don't even own.
Xperia is WAY better than Iphone.

let's face it SE came up with a empty hand in the 'who can beat the iphone in UI' cos ultimately that type of responsiveness is what we want as benchmark on all touchscreen shoes. until SE can match the iphones OS I'll keep using my outdated K750i. GPRS and all. so come SE WOW me!

Im thinking about getting this phone...
I will only be using it for phone calls, text messaging, email, instant messenging and general notes/appts stuff. I love the design and the keyboard.
Does the above stuff work well? quick and easy?

The difference between the X1i and the X1a is the chipset.
X1i: Qualcomm MSM7200
X1a: Qualcomm MSM7201
Duo to patent rights on video compression the Qualcomm MSM7200 ist not legal in the US.
So one of the major drawbacks of the X1a is that it's not capable of videos at VGA 30 fps.
