For all you Nokia fan boys.... you are just fooled into Nokia's marketing tricks.
Just because the spec sheet says something, doesn't mean it's necessarily better in reality. For example, a 16m color screen and a 64k color screen may at times provide equal picture quality, so that is not a determining factor. Additionally, 32GB of memory may appeal to those mostly interested in talking and boasting numbers, but in reality, how many people actually store more than 8GB of RELEVANT data on their phones?? And finally, just because Nokia brings in an old service or concept just rebranded under its own franchise, such as OVI and Maps, doesn't mean it's superior in quality. Facebbok is the most advanced social networking medium and Google Maps is the most feature-rich and interactive navigation service out there - both available free.
So the next time you decide to bash another company's product, claiming Nokia is better, just remember to think about what you're really fighting for. Nokia doesn't care that you risk your reputation to defend its name; it's principally interested in generating profits, even if that means taking you for an endless, sophistical ride and feeding you with all these false notions of its superiority through its innovative and imposing marketing techniques.

Adiel, 11 Dec 2008Why the hell are people waiting for a gsmarena review??its ... moreI agree with you Adiel,,the xperia has been a big learning curve but perseverance has paid off and its a brilliant smartfone..I just wonder if people give up cause its not like symbian or under spec i-phone to use,,Thats fair enuf but with tolerance its just as easy with windows and have 28 apps on the screen of one panel that lead straight into the app,,the other panels are for an easier front end for days off..I have not really even sarted to get used to all the other side of windows with tweaks,,apps just allsorts for windows altho their is still a lot i cannot get to work with xperia just yet,,a lot say on screen warning this app has not been tested for xperia yet or is not a valid app..I have overode these invalid apps by copy/pasting the app onto the the memory card and executing it on xperia,,with that way i get about 50% of apps working plus these apps are freeware so its hit and miss its no different to symbian..Ive got my periodic table on which i use,a brilliant conversion tool wihch is packed to rafters with converters that are very technical but usefull, its called MSS converter..I now have this version of core-player v1.2. Build 4506 Pre-REGGED and got all working to my liking,,IBE player i could not make playlists but he equaliser settings with echo,,reverb, surround and so on were superb..I always use a stopwatch and i-stopwatch does the job free and huge numbers so easy to read..The xperia is really kicking now and battery life is strong lasting me 2+ days but on 2nd day put it on charge so its good for next 2 days..
4hrs of loud music on core player thru headfone brought the battery down to 90% but that could mean 91% or93% it had just jumped to 90% at around 4hrs,,..
No signal problems
Strong battery
REasonably fast.
No wi-fi problems
Cornucopia of settings, apps, tweaks and colours just look at neo-sphere on the screen its pin sharp and vivid colours put my n82 to absolute shame,,xperia has got deep blacks and ultra vibrant colours and paper white,whites.superb......

Well, well. So on 5800 there is not even a text editor at all.. That's funny. No navigation software yet..hmmm.
I saw on youtube a guy who connected a bluetooth mouse on Xperia. THAT'S DAM COOL !! Also on youtube videos with TomTom and GarminMobileXT on Xperia.
That's a mini-laptop. If the price wouldn't be so dam high...

Xperia has NO reception problem (in offline profiles).
Battery is GREAT (great 43200 second backup)
Display and Video are perfect (i try to find)
Cam is great (against any 2.0 mp cam)
Panels are AWESOME (OS look shame-shame)
NO LAGGING (every panel open only in 5 second)
Plenty of RAM (where are you)
Absolute Slower and the most sluggish phone right now.

I think GSMARENA should post a video to let us see how this cell phone work or a video of how this cell phone look like. BTW any other color beside those two?

Someone mentioned Nokia??? :)))
I do not promote Nokia here!
I put it another way: DO NOT BUY NOKIA!!!!! :)
As far as Symbian :)
I have a bad news for you (or two):
˝AT&T to ditch WinMo over Symbian, iPhone may stay!˝
and in that case Symbian will get really strong!
and another development:
˝On Tuesday, Nokia completed its acquisition of Symbian, the latest step in a process that eventually will make Symbian an open-source operating system under the planned Symbian Foundation.˝
I have the feeling that you may have a few Symbian phones in the future :)))
(˝It turns out that these days WinMo is not in its best shape.˝)

Why the hell are people waiting for a gsmarena review??its not the final word folks..Xperia is great and there are hundreds of reviews scattered all over the net, and not all of them could be the result of SE PR as proposed by that low life lunatic whose life's only mission is to come here and talk crap becaue Nokia is producing sh*t these days...so why don't you people just google yourself and see how great Xperia is.
Xperia has NO reception problem
Battery is GREAT
Display and Video are perfect
Cam is great
Panels are AWESOME
NO LAGGING
Plenty of RAM
Absolute Stunner and the most stylish phone right now.
MUCH more functionality and usefullness compared to that toy called iphone(basically for noobs and immatures)
Once you learn windows mobile you will love this device because its the BEST WM mobile right now...and yes its FASTER than HTC touch and HD...go see for yourself...google is your friend.
XPERIA ROCKS!!!!

Maikel, 11 Dec 2008Guys, I was trying to read GSMArena comments on SE X1, Noki... moreI have seen no low ringing volume trouble i wonder sometimes if they have the volume set correctly. If your used to symbian like i was you will struggle at first to get used to windows but the xperia is a good fone if somewhat technical..The n97 is still way off and they are having some problems with the touchscreen..

"This is the best Windows Mobile device that has ever passed my desk. Period.
Sony Ericsson was right by declaring it a "game changer" - this has raised the bar,
and if the Panel interface takes off and we see a lot of neat Panels,
the X1 could become a benchmark mobile device.
Not only is the X1 refined from top to bottom,
but it brings a new interface paradigm that challenges our idea
of what a Windows Mobile Today screen should be.
I was super impressed by its high performance and excellent battery life,
and was refreshed by the sensitivity and clarity of the high-resolution touchscreen.
If you're big on one-handed use, this device is not for you.
But for everyone else that desires a powerhouse of a device, this is definitely it."

"The launch of Sony Ericsson’s premium high-end brand XPERIA back in February
was a courageous and highly unexpected move that now seems to be
one of the most brilliant moves in a long time.
Without further ado, here is to our in-depth review of what is probably the best
and most versatile smart phone to date - the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1."

"Sony Ericsson makes a big deal about the Xperia X1 being an all-in one device for both work and play,
so it's no surprise there are a number of multimedia goodies.
The X1's media interface is built to resemble Sony's other consumer electronics,
including the PlayStation, the PSP, and the Bravia TV line,
so it may look familiar to any owners of those products.
The media player supports MP3, MP4, M4A, AAC(+),
WMA, WAV, MIDI, MPEG-4, WMV and other music and video formats.
Other goodies include podcast support, a streaming media player, and an FM radio,
though you have to use the included headset for the latter.
The X1 has about 400MB of onboard memory,
and the expansion slot can accept up to 16GB cards."

Guys, I was trying to read GSMArena comments on SE X1, Nokia 5800, and expectations of N97. I'm a Nokia user for so long, and my current device is N95. I just want to purchase a new device taking into consideration that i fully use any device's features. I saw so many comments on low ringing volume on X1, and some contradictory opinions about the system itself. Can any expert reply me objectively if i should go ahead and buying the X1 or wait for Nokia N97? thanks

Why is there no review on this phone yet? This must surely be one of the most anticipated mobiles out, yet the C series phones are getting all the reviews... what's with that????
