But, do not waist your time - see the unit and enjoy it after purchase.

The funny thing is, that this so called "known pro-reviewer" our loved mstL dude is always quoting (some guy of a hungarian mobiles homepage I've never heard before) wrote the same (It's a disappointment) about the N96 and I can't find mstL posting that hourly in the N96 section...

An other funny thing is, that he was posting against the X1 even half a year before it was released. I really wonder why he bought one (or so he says...) if he didn't like it from the start.

Knowing this all there is to say is:

                      Don't feed the troll
Just ignore his posts and keep posting real world experience with this device.

There are at least 3 independent reviews which are not positive about X1.

but, make up your mind after you tried the unit. if you like it BUY it! (with good return policy and zero restocking fee!).

                        Enjoy your phone! :)))

˝It is pretty shocking to me that the iPhone/Mac OS X operating system sales are greater than Windows Mobile given that there are so many different Windows Mobile devices and only two models of iPhones. Windows Mobile has also been around for quite some time. It looks like usability may be winning out over functionality and specifications.˝

I am glad that some people are so satisfied with the X1 - honestly. At least a few , even if they are SE staff (?) do not matter :)
What is important that you did not waist your money like many of us did! :(

But, another good news is that SE X1 is given away for FREE with contract - anybody can try it and have a chance to be so happy like you or....... :))))

"The launch of Sony Ericsson’s premium high-end brand XPERIA back in February
was a courageous and highly unexpected move that now seems to be
one of the most brilliant moves in a long time.
Without further ado, here is to our in-depth review of what is probably the best
and most versatile smart phone to date - the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1."

"This is the best Windows Mobile device that has ever passed my desk. Period.
Sony Ericsson was right by declaring it a "game changer" - this has raised the bar,
and if the Panel interface takes off and we see a lot of neat Panels,
the X1 could become a benchmark mobile device.
Not only is the X1 refined from top to bottom,
but it brings a new interface paradigm that challenges our idea
of what a Windows Mobile Today screen should be.
I was super impressed by its high performance and excellent battery life,
and was refreshed by the sensitivity and clarity of the high-resolution touchscreen.
If you're big on one-handed use, this device is not for you.
But for everyone else that desires a powerhouse of a device, this is definitely it."

"Sony Ericsson makes a big deal about the Xperia X1 being an all-in one device for both work and play,
so it's no surprise there are a number of multimedia goodies.
The X1's media interface is built to resemble Sony's other consumer electronics,
including the PlayStation, the PSP, and the Bravia TV line,
so it may look familiar to any owners of those products.
                                  The media player supports MP3, MP4, M4A, AAC(+),
WMA, WAV, MIDI, MPEG-4, WMV and other music and video formats.
Other goodies include podcast support, a streaming media player, and an FM radio,
though you have to use the included headset for the latter.
The X1 has about 400MB of onboard memory,
and the expansion slot can accept up to 16GB cards."

If you like the X1 buy it buy a whole box of them - Xmas is almost here. Just do not send one to me :)

                                      X1 suxs and hot!

˝Having charged the X1 overnight Monday I traveled to work in London and listened to music, by mid-morning I noticed that the battery was down at one bar, started charging it. I left it charging for a couple of hours and then started making calls, about less than 90 mins. On the way home I listened to some music and looked at some web sites, about 1.5 hrs. On arrival at home there was no battery left, so charged for 2 hrs. It turned itself off overnight.

Is this acceptable for a multimedia device ? I don't recall the actual spec but a couple of hours of music player seems to drain it almost completely. Add in push mail (which is a must) and a bit of browsing (all of which is why I got this) & it seems to need charging every 3 hrs of use. I can't be charging that often.

Worse though is that whilst using it yesterday the whole handset became very hot, all over. It was very hot on the back cover & hot when I had it held to my head for a call. This was beyond warm, it was like having a hand warmer in my pocket on the way home. I don't think that this is normal ! (I am charging it now (!) and it is cold, so I'll try & work out what heats it up). ˝
