I have experienced the problem of poor reception, dropping calls, and Wifi.

and unfortunately I am not alone:

˝First day of real use in London has shown the reception to be very poor - on the train into London it dropped out most of the way (My S620 always has a good signal, my Athena usually an H but at least a G or E). Now in Lonon the number of bars is 1 - 2 most of the time and the data reception for a download / web page very slow. ˝

"Sony Ericsson makes a big deal about the Xperia X1 being an all-in one device for both work and play,
so it's no surprise there are a number of multimedia goodies.
The X1's media interface is built to resemble Sony's other consumer electronics,
including the PlayStation, the PSP, and the Bravia TV line,
so it may look familiar to any owners of those products.
          The media player supports MP3, MP4, M4A, AAC(+),
WMA, WAV, MIDI, MPEG-4, WMV and other music and video formats.
Other goodies include podcast support, a streaming media player, and an FM radio,
though you have to use the included headset for the latter.
The X1 has about 400MB of onboard memory,
and the expansion slot can accept up to 16GB cards."

"The launch of Sony Ericsson’s premium high-end brand XPERIA back in February
was a courageous and highly unexpected move that now seems to be
one of the most brilliant moves in a long time.
Without further ado, here is to our in-depth review of what is probably the best
and most versatile smart phone to date - the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1."

"This is the best Windows Mobile device that has ever passed my desk. Period.
Sony Ericsson was right by declaring it a "game changer" - this has raised the bar,
and if the Panel interface takes off and we see a lot of neat Panels,
the X1 could become a benchmark mobile device.
Not only is the X1 refined from top to bottom,
but it brings a new interface paradigm that challenges our idea
of what a Windows Mobile Today screen should be.
I was super impressed by its high performance and excellent battery life,
and was refreshed by the sensitivity and clarity of the high-resolution touchscreen.
If you're big on one-handed use, this device is not for you.
But for everyone else that desires a powerhouse of a device, this is definitely it."

Be proud to own a model which offered FREE by providers with a CHEAP contract!!!

X1 is sold to providers for peanuts!
That is the reason it is possible to offer them FREE!!!!!!

˝Steve Ballmer, CEO at Microsoft, himself has confirmed Windows Mobile 6.5 is officially, official!˝

SE did not and do not offer free upgrade!!!!!!!
                        What a bummer!

It was also released that SE wanted to delay the X1 release due to software bugs!

But obviously did not wait 2 weeks for the WM6.5!!!!!!
                        What a shame!

Nokia can only dream to develop a phone like this...just look at the any of N series...they all have exactly the same user interface....plus they are made of cheap plastic that tears off after only few weeks of use...wtf.....now they are paying wannabe reviewers to give a negative evaluations about SEx1...it is soo low....but, nokia never played fair game....They are loosing numbers and they are trying to raise the numbers by making new freakin'N phone every week almost.

Any-Review.com: "The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the gadget is a perfect blend of world class functionalities and splendid looks..."

MobileTechReview was pleased with Xperia X1 and found the software innovative. With GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a touch screen, their review unit is very fast by Windows Mobile standards, including graphics

Yahoo's Gadget Hound wrote that the XPERIA X1 "looks like a winner, give or take a few rough edges" for its beautiful construction, slippery keys, great connectivity and easy-to-use panels.

Laptop Magazine named the XPERIA X1 the Best SmartPhone of CTIA Wireless for premium design, extreme personalization, nine desktop operations, arc sliding design and 3.2 megapixel camera.

as for the CNET : Bonnie Cha at CNET wrote in her first impressions hands-on report, "the hardware is elegant and strong" and the QWERTY keyboard is spacious. she referred to the enhanced 6.1 Windows Operating System as cool and flashy.

there is 99.9% individuals here who are writing negative about x1 but they dont even have one....

Great phone..been using it for a week, no sign of lagging, awesome screen, great build quality and very good battery compared to similar high end sets, if you like stylish and powerfull business phone just go for it. I suppose some nokia fanboys are posting rubbish about this phone but truly its an amzaing device, much better than omnia, definetely recommend it.
