Anonymous, 29 Nov 2008The keyboard looks great with its tone on tone-aluminum opt... moreMaybe so buddy...but beyond the cosmetics, the TP has the best keyboard. I have had the BB 9000 for a week and it had a good keypad but nothing compared to the TP. I did try the X1's and admittedly, it has some good looks. But not as functional as the TP.

There are some widely reported problems with the X1:
(yes, some of you may got a perfect unit , but not every body - please understand that ;)

                    1: Reception problems
                    2: Wifi problems
3: battery weak (probably due to RAM leakage)

                    4: case cracks
                    Manufacturing error /lack of QA
                    http://pockethacks.com/cracks-in-case-check-your-xperia-x1/

5:Software crash / needed hard reset

                    6: incompatibility with application
                    due to screen resolution

                    7: unit gets hot
                    (battery?)

                    8: low speaker volume

Not all units have all of these but one or two of these is enough to get the user dissatisfied with the X1.

But, if you are who do not care, or happened to have a perfect unit ;)
                    - this post is not for you!
                    Do not get worked-up :))))

Life is beautiful. Hatred, unfounded accusations just hurting you and your environment - not us :)))

X1 might be the best phone for you - no argument here - enjoy it and be happy.
                      (we just say our opinion)

The fact is that only a few more months (or year) the X1 or ANY other current model will be a piece of junk (trash) just like old models are totally forgotten.

Does it really worth the X1 to degrade yourself?

We do not even argue about whether Mozart or Beethoven a greater composer, or Puccini vs. Verdi etc.

Relax and try to treat people with respect.

(but , if you area an SE staff and your job is to troll - we understand ;)

Have a nice day! Enjoy your X1!

The X1 came out late: there are better models available now, AND it is too buggy and not reliable at all.

                          I did return mine.
                          Hikaru hopefully will be better.

the specs posted by GSM arena are not correct:

The x1 does not come with track ID

Also most of the existing pocket pc applications will not work due to the unconventional screen size

Don't by this thig, it's a big waste of money

I've been reading the specs and user ratings and was dying to make the switch from my old tytnII to this xperia.

I finally got it and was enjoying it for the first few minutes untill i tried to install some applications.... Most of the applications normal people use on pocketPCs will not work due to the unconventional size of the screen (garmin, real player, almost all the games i had)

But before i put it back in its box i tried to check out the features that cam included (or the ones I thought would be included as per gsmarane's specs) and the first thing i wated to try was "track ID" and man was I surprized that it is not available... track ID is not available on the x1 as advertised on gsmarena, that really pissed me off so I decided to use music ID which i was working great on my tytnII but, due to the wierd screen size even that application did not work.

I put the piece of junk back in it's box and now everyday I regret blowing off that load of money for a useless piece of junk.

Sony Ericcson, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I'am afraid the SCREEN size is too narrow at 52.6mm compare to other SE models:

                                W960 109.0 x 55.0 x 16mm
                                P1 106.0 x 55.0 x 17mm
                                P990i 114.0 x 57.0 x 17mm (w/o flip)
                                XPERIA 110.5 x 52.6 x 17mm

It should have at least the same size of P990i which is 57.0mm. You comment please.

Excellent performance. Great built quality. Really expensive. Not a very good UI interface adaptation (panels are not really that useful) Good camera for pictures and video. Great sliding mecanism. Great resolution, BUT beware: even though screen size is good (3 inches) it's narrow, which makes text look very tiny and difficult to read.
