I have experienced the problem of poor reception, dropping calls, and Wifi.
and unfortunately I am not alone:
˝First day of real use in London has shown the reception to be very poor - on the train into London it dropped out most of the way (My S620 always has a good signal, my Athena usually an H but at least a G or E). Now in Lonon the number of bars is 1 - 2 most of the time and the data reception for a download / web page very slow. ˝

Yes, you are absolutely right :)
X1 is hot :)
Having charged the X1 overnight Monday I travelled to work in London and listened to music, by mid-morning I noticed that the battery was down at one bar, started charging it. I left it charging for a couple of hours and then started making calls, about less than 90 mins. On the way home I listened to some music and looked at some web sites, about 1.5 hrs. On arrival at home there was no battery left, so charged for 2 hrs. It turned itself off overnight.
Is this acceptable for a multimedia device ? I don't recall the actual spec but a couple of hours of music player seems to drain it almost completely. Add in push mail (which is a must) and a bit of browsing (all of which is why I got this) & it seems to need charging every 3 hrs of use. I can't be charging that often.
Worse though is that whilst using it yesterday the whole handset became very hot, all over. It was very hot on the back cover & hot when I had it held to my head for a call. This was beyond warm, it was like having a hand warmer in my pocket on the way home. I don't think that this is normal ! (I am charging it now (!) and it is cold, so I'll try & work out what heats it up). ˝

IF you bluetooth over a song it goes into device memory which you then cut or copy to memory card,,i get that bit..Then you paste it into memory card in music folder,,i get that..My problem is you have to tap and hold on a blank part of screen to paste it but their is no space?? I scroll down to the bottom but cannot see how to get a blank space i know their must be a solution else that would be ridiculous..I am still new to this but getting their bit by bit..HAD 6 crashes but 4 were self done and the others just 16gb card probs but the xperia corrected itself after a few seconds wait whereas my n82 just stays stuck..The card probs were to do with it being linked to my n82,ive now reformatted and reset the fone and redone the lot and all is fine,,have now got battery on all screens I.B.E. player set up 2500 songs but some vids that ive had for years even at qvga at 30fps jump on the media player of sonys so need to check if they play ok on WMA player cause they play ok on htc touch..super fone

Well, SE had some quality issues in the past. Now, SE decided that HTC should make its ´flagship˝.
I always said this was a huge mistake. HTC was not known about high quality manufacturing.
Now, X1 has all kind of problems.
Cracks of the case, battery problems, someone suggested that it is due to current leakage due to ram manufacturing error.
The list of problems are long and getting londer every day.
But, this is another example to share our experiences since people can be aware of them and prevent the long term effects - like return/exchange the unit during the grace period.

Steve Ballmer, CEO at Microsoft, himself has confirmed W... moreGrow up you imbecile
Sony Ericsson spokeswoman Merran Wrigley has confirmed, as we have stated ourselves, that the launch of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 has not in fact been delayed to January 2009
“There is absolutely no delay. The product is on track. We have said it will roll out in Q4 and we are on target to do that.” said Merran.
The evidence for a delay were flimsy at best, being simply an un-updated website that was rapidly corrected, and the musings of largely uninformed SE reps at the IFA conference. With the device already widely circulated and even with the ROM in the wild, there is no reason to believe the device will not be here in October, as is widely expected.
