truth always hurts l, 27 Oct 2008I want to say ONE MORE thing to those who are in love with ... moreActually, panels aren't shortcuts, they aren't all accessible through the main windows panel, you can't reach the sony ericsson multimedia page, fish panel, etc through the main windows.
You can create panels that shortcut to a program on the main windows screen, like the Google panel. Panels can also be like shells, like the SPB mobile shell.

i have to chose between this 2 phones xperia x1 and omnia i900.
my brother is going to buy one of them and i dont know which one is better x1 or omnia i900.
tell me please the difference betwen in writing sms,photo quality.video quality,ram and rom.etc
what is advantage and disadvantage of each one????

We blew up a photograph to 16 x 24 inches at a professional photo lab. One print had 13-megapixel resolution; one had 8; the third had 5. Same exact photo, down-rezzed twice, all three printed at the same poster size. I wanted to hang them all on a wall in Times Square and challenge passersby to see if they could tell the difference.
Even the technician at the photo lab told me that I was crazy, that there’d be a huge difference between 5 megapixels and 13.
I’m prepared to give away the punch line of this segment, because hey—the show doesn’t air till February, and you’ll have forgotten all about what you read here today, right?
Anyway, we ran the test for about 45 minutes. Dozens of people stopped to take the test; a little crowd gathered. About 95 percent of the volunteers gave up, announcing that there was no possible way to tell the difference, even when mashing their faces right up against the prints. A handful of them attempted guesses—but were wrong. Only one person correctly ranked the prints in megapixel order, although (a) she was a photography professor, and (b) I believe she just got lucky.
I’m telling you, there was NO DIFFERENCE.
And I’m hoping this little test can save you some bucks the next time you’re shopping for a camera.

The marketing race for "more megapixels" would like us to believe that "more is better". Unfortunately, it's not that simple. The number of pixels is only one of many factors affecting image quality and more pixels is not always better.
Conclusion
Unfortunately there is no single standard objective quality number to compare image quality across different types of sensors and cameras. For instance, a 3 megapixel Foveon type sensor uses 9 million photodetectors in 3 million pixel locations. The resulting quality is higher than a 3 megapixel but lower than a 9 megapixel conventional image and it also depends on the ISO level you compare it at. Likewise, a 6 megapixel Fujifilm Super CCD image is based on measurements in 3 million pixel locations. The quality is higher than a 3 megapixel image but lower than a 6 megapixel image. A 6 megapixel digital compact image will be of lower quality than a 6 megapixel digital SLR image with larger pixels. To determine an "equivalent" resolution is tricky at best.
End of the day, the most important thing is that you are happy with the quality level that comes out of your camera for the purpose that you need it for (e.g. website, viewing on computer, printing, enlargements, publishing, etc.). I strongly recommend that you look beyond megapixels when purchasing a digital camera.
IN sHORT,
3.2MP Cybershot K800 can produce better pictures than 5MP/8P.

Really shocked. I just checked carphonewarehouse.co.uk to check if X1 out yet and went to the usual page. When I looked at the page the phone id no longer free and the free minutes are less! Feel let down.

It looks like an awesome phone, better than the HTC diamond and touch pro.
I know the camera is a little low (well now we got them 8 MP camera phones)
but it doesnt matter, its a PDA first, thena phone, then a camera.

Sorry, but you are wrong - at least in the technical sense.
Pixel count tells only about the resolution that is all.
It does not tell about distorsion, color accuracy, focus, etc. (does not tell anything about the lens)
Obviously, with a decent 3-5mp camera you can produce a better image than any 8mp phone.
But, you are right. It is very unlikely that the X1 has a better quality camera than the Omnia.
X1 is not made for taking pictures.
Like the G900 - it is not a camera phone. The G900 is a 5mp phone but a decent 3mp camera-phone produce a better picture.
X1 is for communication. It is stuck in 2007 with its Psion design.
