Nokia 5800 is a direct competitor to the i-phone whereas The Xperia X1 is all together more professional device but don't forget the X1 also includes stunning multimedia capabilities. This Windows mobile v Symbian is getting rather boring but if you think Symbian software is superior i'm afaid that's a sure sign you have never used WM programs.

Hey GSMArena, you guys might wanna change the current status from "coming soon" to "released". User reviews have begun popping up on major forums since it's out in some of the biggest markets - the UK, USA, Germany and Sweden.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Just took a look at Nokia 5800 OMG there's no way I'm using that phone in front of my colleagues and clients, they'll sure laugh in my face if they saw me using such a childish flashy phone with emphasis only on music. You say that Nokia kills X1 in every way??? OMG wake up and face the reality, even from the design Nokia 5800 is a big no no for grownups. Maybe it's a good Christmas gift for the kids to play with, and of course they need to listen to music most of the time...

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Then go buy your Nokia already if you need a phone only for music. I don't care about listening to music, watching video, playing games or taking 8 MP pictures using a phone, I already have iPod, laptop, home theater, and digital camera for those purposes, I don't need my phone to do those again. I need a phone that can help me do my work anywhere thus I need the push mail, WM with pocket office, WLAN, and the full qwerty keyboard, and X1 have all those. Does Nokia 5800 have all those? No. Thus that phone is a total worthless junk to me regardless how good it can play music. Look at the purposes of you buying a phone before calling it bad.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970SE has already sent X1 stock in UK, Germany and Swedia stores since 30 September and the stores has different date to sell x1 it is depend on their business strategy but each store has agreement with the others store to make a date to sell x1. If you want to pre order this phone you must see at first when the store will be sold the x1 and if the store only said October but there is no a date, you must ask first when it will be sold exactly before you pre order it.

If you pre order this phone at store which doesnt have a specific date so you have a risk you cant get your phone A.S.A.P but if you pre order it at store which have a specific date (example : 8 oct) so you must wait it till 8 oct and don’t complain the x1 date before 8 oct because you knew it and you are not a insane person, are you? but if the store doesnt sell the x1 pass 8 oct so you can complain to the store where you pre ordered it and not to SE.

My advise is find a store which has the closest date as your expectation…

Ken, 03 Oct 2008Well 1st Thing I Dont Think This Phone Will Be Release As I... morenokia use symbian,
Symbian Ltd. It is a descendant of Psion's EPOC and runs exclusively on ARM processors.
On 24 June 1998, Symbian Ltd. was formed as a partnership between Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola and Psion. Symbian was previously owned by Nokia (56.3%), Ericsson (15.6%), Sony Ericsson (13.1%), Panasonic (10.5%) and Samsung (4.5%). Ten years to the day later, on 24 June 2008, Nokia announced that they intended to acquire all shares that they did not already own.

so Symbian is not Nokias OS

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Well... I partly agree with you. But it is difficult not to talk about release date, because personally I'm waiting for this phone for 8 months already. And frankly speaking I feel obsessed with Xperia.
