Can anyone confirm if the 3G frequency stated here in the specs is correct? I read somewhere else that it will have the 1700/2100 needed for the new t-mobile 3g. Thanks

Great thing about WM is you can customize virtually everything.Install spb mobile shell + necessary files and you can have the same UI as the diamond.I've even seen WM7 UI on a tytn!

What a fantastic all-round device this promises to be. I can't believe how far mobile phones have come in the last 3 years!
Will this have a feature where SMSs from certain people are made invisible upon receiving them, and you need a PIN number to see & view them. Now that would be a nifty 3rd party application!

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2008Usually the phones that take too long to be released have s... moreNonsense!Yes TyTN II didn't have software drivers for d3d and with good reason-because devices like the diamond, touch pro and xperia x1 were in the pipeline. All three have hardware acceleration, helping to make them a worthy upgrade.Call clarity is pretty good on newer WM devices plus you can change the radio if say you bought a generic device but were using an orange simcard-simply flash the orange radio for a better reception.

ok i´ve been googling and reading different blogs, forum and other stuffs. And it seems that its a bit confusing about the realease date of the xperia. One rumour says the realease is in the mid of september or late of 2008, and another says realease is in feb 2009. So does anyone know the exactly date of the realease?

So how is it that the HTC Diamond Touch Pro has the exact same features with worse battery life, 1 less 3G compatible frequency band, and less memory, yet its feature rating is 8.7 and the Xperia's is 8.6? Sounds like some people just don't like SE...

Usually the phones that take too long to be released have software bugs that can't be fixed by manufacturer, drivers’ problems with audio and video, electrical power leaks, overheating troubles. This phone and Omnia are wonderful in specs but research the history of phones based on Qualcomm and Windows Mobile. Most of funs bought them for hobby purposes, to have a smart microcomputer in pocket not for a reliable way of voice communication in business, who wants a reboot during a business call or a frozen screen when you want to make a call to 911? All present WM phones have big driver problems and lack of enough power (processing and electrical) and cheap toy quality cases. The only chance a WM to be “almost” reliable will be when all its drivers will be made by Microsoft programmers and hardware to be certified by Microsoft labs.

it was a mistake on the SE blogs about the 10/2/2009 date release..there was a spokeman from SE that said it was a mistake and they are still planning on releasing the Xperia sometime this year...its just to some other region first..
