dunno abt any chinese phones with 1mp cams. all
of their interfaces show max vga resolution no matter what they write on the lens. if u look closer a 3Mp is only .3Mp but the decimal is very tiny (.3 is 0.3 ie VGA only) 5.0 maybe .5.0 ie 'half' Mp. and more if u drop these handsets there's a good chance their screen calibration is out if they are still alive...

The songlive seems like a waste of $145
NOTHING like the Xperia. You mention 5.0 MPx cam its probably the same 1 MPx sensor in all their phones but digitally enlarged. Much like their version of the N95 8GB that has 8GB of memory but once you go over the 1GB mark it says "Memory Full". Also no GPS and most importantly no WinMo 6.1 or SE's Media player just the OSless chinese interface. It doesnt even run Java i think.
Dont go for these chinese phones everyone i know who fell for the low price regretted it. Sure you get a "somewhat" Xperia lookalike for a fraction of the price but you dont even get 1% of the features and quality.
Its a shame that people who go for this crap actually exist, id rather own a Nokia 1100 than the SongLive.
Yep, im waiting for the Xperia then waiting another cople of months for the price to go down then Im buying it.

Sorry for my reply, I thought it is HTC Touch Diamond, well, their's no reason for them to be compared because for me the HTC Touch Pro isn't that nice in design unlike HTC Touch Diamond and Sony ericsson Xperia X1

If u impatiently awaiting Xperia, the first clone of Xperia has appear. The flourishing Chinese copycatting industry has delivered a new masterpiece called SongLive X1.
Unlike other clones, SongLive X1 is not a full copy of the Sony Ericsson flagship handset.
The feature of the fake X1 are said to include : dual SIM, Mobile TV Tuner and 5 Megapixel camera.
Apparently, the SongLive X1 can be found across China for retail price of around US$145 or 90 Euro.

By the time this phone is released, Samsung and HTC already dominated the market. Why SE keep on delaying the release of their phone? I really don't understand their poor marketing strategy. Some people can't wait any longer like, I would settle for Samsung Omnia or HTC Touch Diamond.

There is really little difference between those two phones!
I think the SE will have the edge over multimedia because of the WOW effect of bigger and and better (resolution) display and Sony's tradition with sound.
The HTC device probably will have the edge in applications, since it has a better RAM.
But we cant be sure about that since the numbers are confirmed!
As far as total memory, i believe both phones use the same card, so this wouldnt be an issue, but the xperia seem to have more internal memory to boot. But thats not confirmed either.
And i final thing to remember is that the xperia will have almost a double battery autonomy and this would be a very important issue, to help you actually put in effective use all this memory...

hi there people was wondering if u could help, im currently deciding which will be my next phone, either the HTC Touch Diamond Pro or the Sony Xperia X1.
As we all know theres not alotbetween these units but what im needing is the better for memory exspansion.
I believe the HTC will be a maximum of 8GB obviously with a MSD Card but what about the Xperia...?
Im wanting either unit for being able to have as an all round multimedia device for my mp3s plus movies on the go, not to mention web access etc, let me know what you think guys (and gals)
Peace

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2008This is bad.......
"Second profit warning for Sony Erics... moreAs long as SE stop releasing endless and identical spec 2mp bar phones, and use a bit of innovation such as with the X1 hopefully things will improve.
Also I've found their phones are overpriced recently- for example Moto V8 was a lot cheaper than SE W380 when I went to the store lately.

this is SE...so expect it when its specs are almost outdated.....it will probably hit the market in november or may b december. SE always embarasses its fans by being so lazy.
