You can't go wrong wwith a sony ericsson,it will kill both iphones and all the other phones.Apple,Nokia,Samsung i hope you know but the war has started and you are losing

i agree that most of users don't need qwerty, but some like me realy need it, it is like not having bluetoth.
And i think Xperia is like you say targeted at both, but still mainly for us.
ia hvae Nokia E90 now, realy nice hardware, justsymbian is bugging me sometimes, though there is also nice software for symbian, remote dsktop LAN veverything.
So gues why i nee qwerty? To type this post right now or example...
I don't use computer almost, since i bought E90. Forum posting, 24/7 connected to MSN with it, push email. I browse internet with it, and sometimes write word documents, one or 2 A4 pages sometimes...
which is why i need big screen and E90 has 4".
So don't tell me what qwerty is, it is what makey a smarthphone to have laptop functions.
But i do admit, not many people i like me :P So they maybe should maek another Xperia withoout qwerty but same.

Today, a cellphone is a very personal thing... Almost like a favorite sports team. Its no wonder so many people post so many crazy comments here bashing or praising this phone. There are nokia fans that vote all '1's just to lower the score. There are SE fans so desperate for this phone that they refresh this page hourly for new info. No matter who you are, if you do your homework and compare this phone to all others, you have to admit the spec sheet is nothing short of amazing. Its little wonder why this phone is getting so much attention. Just wait until they announce the price ;)

The phone would be perfect if it had 256K display and 5MP camera. But it's nice anyway :)

Some people need a keypad but for most users it is not needed.
There several phones and PDAs without qwerty keypad and people able to use it fine.
The extra 50% thickness not that great anyway.
It is clear to me that the target consiumers for both unit is the same (articles also confirm that). You may disagree.

Uf how i lafed when i looked at Samsung. i900 is competitor and probably better than HTC Diwmond, while HTC Toutch Pro is competitor to Xperia.
What got into you to compare X1 with i900?
Didnt't you notice one is phone while other is qwerty phone? That is like laptop versus mobile phone. Completly diferent peoplpe buy phones with qwerty or without.
Because you first deceide if you want qwerty and than which phone will you chose.
So why you posting or X1 comment, if you don't want qwerty phone???
Non qwerty is just phone with occasional browsing and stuff, while qwerty phone means forum posting, email writing, documents editing,...

And if Samsung is just half as good as it looks on paper it will beat Xpedia big time.
I wish there would be more competition - the price would come down more.
Another problem is that : SE is not able to put any phone on the market without quality problems - HTC also not known to have great QC (quality control).

It will came at the same time as HTC Toutch Pro, and they are direct competitory, Xperia X1 is a little better, but HTC may be cheaper...

I do not understand what has happened to SE.
One lousy phone after another.
W890 (initial price 500USD)
- small screen
- no WIFI
- no autofocus
- no flash
- weak speakerphone
- weak ring volume
- horrible battery
C902
- small screen
- lousy camera
G900
- triband!!!!
- lousy camera
- slow, SLOW processor
The last chance was the Xpedia but it is too late, and too big :)
And the fact that Se can not even able to manufacture it - well that confirms that SE has a huge quality control problem.

REMINDER..........
Forgot to mention that I900 is lighter and has much more memory with MicroSD.
Thats why a company like samsung is #2 world wide,which explains why other companies also keep on track while others give pictures and late appearing in the market.
WELLDONE for those companies of hard working and fast acting!

REMINDER.........
For the 3RD time i post that by the time the X1 hits the market its going to be TOOOOO LATE!
LOL,take a look to the NEW I900 from Samsung,larger display,faster processor and much better camera with more syle like the iphone.NO sliding crap or anything but you get to function everything by TOUCH.which is better by the if you really understand that ONE pace is better than 2 which slides.
ONE,drop of such phone is enough to get the uper and lower paces broken.
NOT TO MENTION that I900 would be out soon,funny when SE were the 1st to use the WM6.1pro in marketing hopes for it to come when it seems like the X1 would be the last WM6.1pro to hit the market.
ITS NOT OVER YET,wait a little more and see what other companies might come up with for the next upcoming weeks or month lol.

I was looking forward to getting this phone until I noticed the battery life. The battery life seems to be lacking for a Sony Ericsson phone. Specs vs. specs, I think iPhone and HTC Touch Pro are better.
