Am I missing something?
Why are people (nick) saying HTC made this?
If HTC made it wouldn't it be under HTC not SE?
My tiny brain cannot handle this utter confusion.

at first did not care much for this powerhouse but thats changed a lot..never used windows b4 just symbian so looking up facts on these type of smartfones and its fun learning something new..All we can do is wait and discuss the xperia till its launched..Also its got the video to a good res at last for s/e ,,

i don't understand with you guys...if Xperia is made by HTC, so what ? are you jelous ? HTC and SE are Good companies..i tell you that there is no xperia if no deal between HTC and SE and there is no xperia if HTC without SE, HTC just manufacture it and the rest is SE..Combination of both companies quality are good to make a phone with good quality..the phone is for us who like it..if you don't like this phone..don't buy this phone and dont push it down..you should get out from this forum site...dont complain it in this forum because we dont need your complain...actually there is no problem with Xperia and videos of xperia on youtube and the others are prototype..it's not real xperia power, look at HTC diamond has the same processor speed as Xperia and smaller RAM and ROM than X1 has but Diamond is fast and access WM 6.1 and 3D touch flo smoothly, it means Xperia will be faster than HTC Diamond.
HTC diamond has 528MHz, 190+MB RAM and 256MB ROM.
Xperia has 528 MHz, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM.
if Xperia has not released yet, it doesn't mean x1 have problem, it's just your wrong assumtion that x1 has many problems...according to SE press release B4 that x1 will be added with many features more and SE give developers a chance to finish or upgrade their applications so pls be a patient person..X1 will be a good phone later

WM 6.1 OS (great on MS office, WMP email and many more) although WM 6.1 has only 65000k color but it's more than enough for me because if we are talking about amount of color, it means we are talking about variation of color, my opinion, there is not an object has color as much as 16 MILLION color variation, do you think your car has 16 MILLION color variation ? although there is an object has 16M color but you can't see or detect them at once sight.WVGA resolution screen will cover 65000k colors to be sharp and bright.

Nick ur basing your argument on just ur theories im basing it on pure fact. If u want to make yourself believe that ur not buying a se phone but an htc go right ahead. Fact remains that you actually are buying a se phone with no htc influence.

Na Symbian UIQ is a lame duck.Software development is extremely slow and it simply dosen't offer the functionality or flexibility to compare with WinMo.

Im not a SE fan but i cant close my eyes to this fact named xperia. I was loking for a phone whit all feutures in a set but i didnt find. now a 3" widescreen(800*480) is perfect one. full QWERTY keybourd with optical joystick. 3.2 MG camera. cool inteface on hot WM pro 6.1. 528 MHz processor and 400 MB intenal memory 512 Mb storage and 256 Mb ram is really uncomparable withe others and many more ... im just waiting to release...

On Sony Getting Into the Windows Mobile Game
A couple of details that I learned from talking to various people at the Sony Ericsson booth that might be of interest:
They took care to emphasize that HTC didn't have a large hand in developing the hardware. “We designed it, HTC is just the ODM” was a phrase I heard twice. SE is (rightfully) very proud of this hardware and though they're utilizing HTC to do the manufacturing, they really want to make sure that they get the credit.
As for using HTC to manufacture it, my personal opinion is still mixed. HTC is very good at making great hardware and clearly has much more experience at this sort of thing than Sony Ericsson. Likely that's why SE made the decision to go with them. It's still surprising to me, however, as SE makes all sorts of phones and consumer devices and thus they likely had a lot of options. If nothing else, I see it as a testament to HTC's incredibly ability to crank out Windows Mobile devices as a manufacturer that they could beat out the other ODMs that Sony uses for their other products.
The other interesting bit is that SE developed the X1 as a “North American Device.” Most of the design and development work was done in San Diego and has a “North American mindset.” If there was any doubt that Sony Ericsson is aiming this device primarily at the US market, that doubt can now be laid to rest. SE has traditionally done much better in the Asian and European markets with their high-end phones, the Xperia X1 is clearly intended to reverse that trend.

clearly HTC did completely make this.
i believe this because sony erricsons two phone laws consist of:
a)put as little features in a phone as phyiscally possible while charging standard prices
b)make life as difficult for the user as possible.
they normally do this by giving you some useless camera and useless video recording ability and some useless wifi receiver.
they normally make you plug in adapters to use headphones and they normally give you tony little keys you can barely press.
this phone doesnt have that!
so clearly sony erricson didnt make this

I am anxiously waiting for this Xperia x1 phone, but now getting frustrated and I can no longer wait. Can anyone of you suggest which other phone would have similar features and also available, as the Hp 910c was my other choice and that one is also delayed. How many gigs of micro sd xperia can support.

How on Earth you people believe, SorryEricsson will release this device in September if HTC clearly stated - they only will supply SE with XPERIA's in October ? You are soooooo confused :-) HTC RULES !
