This phone is excellent. Im quite sick of reading peoples opinions on the phone who dont actually own the phone! The buttons are very easy to use; they are far easier to use than my previous phones buttons (nokia n76).
People that complain about messaging must be getting confused about a feature that the phone has, where it tries to learn your common words and predict whats next. A feature you can turn off as it can be annoying sometimes (requiring you delete an innacurate guesses).
Another thing to note is that the delete key for sms's is in a slightly odd place which is uncommon im sure to SE or Nokia users. The buttons dont actually press unless you apply a bit of pressure to them. They give a very small vibration for tactile feedback that resembles a button remarkebly well.
I can honestly say that the key pad on this phone is as easy as any other buttoned phone I have used before.
The screen is another common complaint. I hardly see why considering the resolution is standard (320 by 240) for about 99% of phones today. Yes the physical size maybe smaller, but the resolution is the same which means you see just as good quality a picture. In fact you even see a better quality picture as the pixels are smaller and everything is more fine. The screen is excellent, the fonts come out perfectly; detail is great, etc.
The scroll wheel is suprisngly good on this phone. It works well for scrolling through contacts and long lists of music. Its sensative to your finger acceleration and has the ability to auto scroll when you reach the end of the 2/3 wheel. The faster your finger movement, the quicker it will auto scroll.
The speaker on this phone is just average for playing music. This phone has excellent sound quality; labs tests have shown this phone to have sound quality on par with dedicated mp3 players and better than that of the walkman phone series. But dont think that good sound quality = great phone speakers. Like portable mp3 players; this phone is designed to be listened to with headphones.
Portable mp3 devices need GOOD headphones if you want to hear good sound. Just like with an ipod; you need to invest in a set of good headphones for real music enjoyment (im talking about headphones around 80-250 USD mark, not el cheapos or headphones that come with mp3 players).
If your not listening to this device with such quality headphones; then you really cant comment on the sound quality that phone outputs.
This phone has a terrible camera, if you want to take photos, then buy a real camera, or get a different phone.
The rokr E8 is a mp3 player / standard 'no nonesense' phone. The phone handles ALL of your standard phone features well (calls, contacts, SMS, Alarm, etc). It handles Mp3 playback exceptionally well, I would argue with good headphones, you dont need to buy a seperate mp3 player if you have this phone and your satisfied with 6GB (possible more havnt tried) of storage capacity.
I havent tried movie playback, its not high on my to do list either, I bought this phone to save me buying a dedicated mp3 player. I also bought this phone to replace the dreadful nokia n76.
I prefer this phone to the nokia n76 ten fold (as a point of refence to those who have one). The phone is very thin and sleek, its ugly in my eyes at all. Its a very unique phone that im sure very few will have. If you want an mp3 player / standard featured phone; then I doubt you will find many other phones that can match this.
if your after a phone that has many more bells and whistles, then look elsewhere; its not for you. One quick last note; this phone has a pretty nice theme in m y opinion; far, far better than anything else ive seen from moto. You can download themes and games and even apps to add to this phone. So if you can be bothered; im sure you can make it even more functinal or unique.
I would be happy to answer any questions from people who are keen on this phone and I give it a 9/10 for its intended purpose (i.e. make calls, send sms's, play music and turn heads)

@SEguy, you are clearly confused by saying 'non of the Nokia phones compare with the SE cybershot series'. Just look on this very same forum for the 'blind test' where people did not know which photo got taken by which phone and see - even se fanboys voted for the top nokia N95 :) I believe SE actually come in last with Samsung in the middle. Now that's a FACT :)Of course you may chose to ignore it but that's your loss. I wished HTC (my choice) has a camera which is better then the N95's ! HTC Rules :)

geez... why do you always complaining with 65k colors? It's not like people won't buy Xperia just because of the color issue. There are a LOT of features worth buying this monster than just 65k coors
Besides, the resolution of the screen is more important than just colors!!
If you still complain about the colors, then answer me this:
which one will you choose?
more than 65k colors (256k, 16M, etc) with Game Boy quality graphics??
or 65K with Playstation 3 quality graphics?
Think again

It's screen supports 65k because windows supports only that much.
About xenon flash, you haven't heard k800i or something. it's se cybershot phone and none of nokia's phones can be compared with quality of se cybershot models. xperia is not a phone just for photos. if you want to take photos, buy a k800i and see what it's capable of.

The X1's Internet connectivity features are superior to any other mobile phone. It offers HSUPA that transmits video and other media almost as quickly as it comes downstream -- a feature is not available in Nokia's most advanced phones. And powering all these features is a 520-MHz ARM11 processor running Windows Mobile 6.1!
Bottomline, the XPERIA X1 is not just as a consumer or a productivity device, but one that offers you the best of both worlds.Wicked entertainment appliance, yet loaded with productivity features that the most fastidious mobile professional could use very effectively in an enterprise context.
