the design of xperia is borrowed from HTC, O2, IMATE, ETEN, IPAQ etc.
Poor SE fans dont know even this!
All the features that xperia is boasting is already available in HTC, O2, IMATE, ETEN, IPAQ phones.

This phone price range will be between $850USD and $950USD. Way too expensive for a slow phone with no xenon flash, no tv-out and only 65K of colors!!!

cga, ega, sga, vga, svga, xga, uxga, etc have nothing to do with color depth
Having a whsuxga or something beyond 2560x1600 res don't give a screen an ability to change the display color depth beyond it's capability or which intended by manufacturer
So stop manipulating the truth

The n82 has a Quarter VGA resolution screen, for a top of the range multimedia device this is totally unacceptable.Everything viewed on n82 can only show 76800 pixels!The xperia x1 has a fabulous WIDE VGA resolution(384000pixels) display so you can enjoy watching movies,viewing images,internet surfing on a screen that can show detail.

@ mstL;
before you argue just want to clarify this bec. your comment is NON sense...
XPERIA X1 quality features;
1.) long battery life which is 1500 MAH battery
2.) Wider screen than N82 and N95
4.) has touchscreen
5.)has 500+ HHZ processor
6.) has VGA which can change the color more than 16 million color or better than 16 million color
5.) has 4 LED Flash which is better than 1 xenon flash
6.) made out of steel metal and NOT plastic like NOKIA have
Comparing to your N82;
1.) battery life is only 1050 MAH which is poor
2.) Screen not that big like XPERIA X1 has
3.) NO! touchscreen
4.) it's processor is only 300+ MHZ processor
5.) made out of plastic NOT metal which is bad
5.) Design is ugly

I prefer Symbian OS but I will admit Windows Mobile has better 3rd party software.If the OS on this device is stable I might well be switching from Nokia s60 to SE WM.

Ok, the N95/N96/N82 is not comparable to X1. They\'re in different segments and comparing them would only embarass Nokia. Also, regarding size, the X1 is a bit wider and a bit longer, but alot thinner. In total, the X1 has a volume of 97cm³ while the N95 is 110cm³ The N96 is a bit smaller but still larger than the X1 at 102cm³.
In short, the X1 is smaller than the full-feature Nokias and still beating them on features.
The next one really annoys me. Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Embedded CE DOES NOT have a cap in color depth at 65k. That is simply not true, stop saying that.
Windows Mobile 6 (and WeCE) supports pixel depths of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 32 bpp. (Source: msdn.microsoft.com)
16bits = 65k colors, 18bit = 262k colors, 24bit = 16,7m colors.
So, WM doesn\'t directly support 18 bit colordepth (262k). Are we bothered? No.
The reason most WM phones use 65k is that converting the framebuffer takes CPU cyles. Using GPUs takes more power and costs more with little benefit.
The Xperia seems is a no expense spared kind of project and I\'m sure every level headed person will agree the sweet screen is one of the best ever produced.

You keep debating 65K and 16M color issue - but who cares about the colors when your battery is low! :)
The biggest screwup with this phone beside (65K color) and its thickness (17mm !!! - brick) that it has only a 1500mA battery!!!!
Not only the spec of the battery lousy but Se keeps having problems with the quality of the batteries.
Anyway, there is no way this battery will be good enough for a 3inch screen, with GPS etc.
The price will be another problem.
It seems SE keeps overpricing the recent phones. Luckily, after few weeks the price comes down significantly - see W890 initial price was 500USD and after only 2 months just above 300USD - over 35% price drop!!!
Good luck with your preorder! ;)
