And to all who insist that 65k color is enough, either u're all blind or u're too goddamn stubborn to admit it, it is noticeably different between my m600i 262k colors in which i use to type this, and 16m found in nokias'

But it's not noticeable between 16m and -32 bit- 4 billion colors found in todays pc display oups wait, even todays monitor are 16m only!

Wanna some proof? Test it by urself grab a picture rich in colors and compare it on a 262k and 16m colors displays

it looks cool but will it compare to the LG vu say or the samsung F480/F490 or even the iPhone with that done will it match sony erricsons own W960 and i bet the price tag is huge ove £400 / $800 i hope it has a finger friendly touch screen the other SE touches havent been that great with a finger as they are with the stylus but i would much rather use my finger because i am very clumsy and might drop it well i hope its all its cracked up to be if its not i will choose another phone maybe if nokia make a rival i will choose that or the W960

            @ devilloh;

Can you tell us exactly if you can see the real difference between a 16M and a 64K color phone?

People keep on commenting without really understanding techonology here!!!

My only disappoinment with this phone is it's 65k color display, sigh damn microsoft! Other than that this phone is the real flagship for SE since the goddamn p5 only have 208 mhz of a stupid cpu, a nasty design, and way too small display (2.4 inch)...

For the camera, who on earth really care with 5mp camera? I'd rather use a real digicam than a cell phone if i really want to take pics, besides the difference is not that much.

Now i can only hope than the release date isn't pushed further back

At all the brand fans (ie nokia ,SE, HTC, ...)fighting on this forum, stop bashing and trolling. It is really annoying to read the same comments and arguements coming up over and over. Each to his/her own and stop trying to force your opinions on others. Appreciate the phones for what they are rather than who made them. I have a sony ericsson K750i and it is an excellent phone. Having said that, I am looking to upgrade to a smartphone and I am eagerly awaiting the release of the X1 so that I can try out the phone at my local phone dealer. I will be considering other brands/models as well.

                  peace,
                  Kipkkpman

@John - according to Mr. Kim of UAE (as he posted here), it will be available in the Middle East around June/July this year. Mr. Kim even mentioned that one store in Dubai offered pre-order for XPERIA X1 (I dont know how much).

Hey ! 2 all silly fans of Nokia. Nokia iz wat? Top? No. It's totally a loser. Imagine if Nokia didn't give out many models, it would go bankcrupt. Beside, Nokia has Zero. Stupid themes, Stupid Music & Cam so they just give out many new models instead. Therefore, people cant not realize Nokia's weakness. 'Bout the music quality, SE surely 100% is the winner of all kind. 'bout pic quality from cam, Nokia just has N82 this year, meanwhile SE has K750i was the best known camera phone in 2005. SE loads the Web pages are so kool.
                        Nokia is rubbish!

yip people see 5MP in the spec sheet and immediately jump to the conclusion that the phone has a brilliant camera. How stupid!

@ nick I have an interest in photography, please understand It's not just the resolution of the sensor that determines the final image quality look at the optics, the colour management, the technology in the image-processing engines.Camera/phones image sensors haven't got significantly larger from one generation to the next,so squeezing more megapixels out of a sensor means each pixel on the sensor is smaller. In most of the chip business, smaller electronics is the name of the game but with cameras, they translate to less light per pixel. That light difference means it's harder to distinguish the signals produced by light from the electronic noise in the sensor. The idea of making the signal-to-noise ratio worse may sound pretty technical, but possible consequences are easily understood-Images suffer from colour speckles, and cameras work poorly in dimmer conditions such as indoors. If you try to cram more pixels into the same amount of space, you get signal degradation because you're not getting as much light into the same pixel.

it is true that the megapixel count has little to do with it, however when you put a photo on your computer, you would normally open the photo not in its real size. because the photo is made smaller, theres more pixels in it so the image quality is better. see?

i think its fair to say the current generation of 5mp cameras outshine the 3mp ones and the 3mp camera on the xperia isnt going to be better than the camera on the n95 lets say.

i hope they have natural colours on the xperia though. the k850 photos are so dark and colourless.

                                    As a photography enthusiast
(as well as a gadget freak!),I have indulged in my fair share of technology lust, spending more than a bit of my discretionary income on digital cameras. What I have discovered over time is that megapixel ratings often have little to do with image quality. The newer model digital cameras do not always match older models in image quality.Yet,marketers are bent on convincing us that we can never have enough megapixels.Nokia,Sumsung
,LG even SE are relying on consumers lack of experience/knowledge.
