Now why does everyone think that this phone doesnt have tv-out? COME ON PEOPLE, THIS PHONE HASNT EVEN BEEN RELEASED.. Since it has a 3.5 mm jack, it is imo very possible that it will have tv-out.. In fact, i read somewhere that wm6.1 devices SUPPORT TV-OUT!! I don't know if it applies to all of them but at least most, and since it has a 3.5 jack it is very possible..
I at least hope they will put it in, and all the features of this phone hasnt been released yet, also the final product hasnt been released, so you cant say this phone will not have TV-out..
And also if it will, it will be much better than Nokia's tv-out, since nokia phones support 320x240 pixels so tv zooms the pixels, but this phone has wvga resolution, so the picture in tv, if there will be tv out, will be pretty great i think..

look i really like the xperia okay and i will get it when its released, but i just think as a general rule of thumb, sony erricsons are just so par!

cameraphones have really poor video resolution.

walkmans have no standard headphone slot.

    good one.

If you read my post carefully you'll find that I wrote that the N82 is the current king of camera phones. So no question as to where I place the K850, it was a poor attempt by SE.

Now as for the X1 you're completely off the mark. I suggest you research about it because I feel you've made up your mind about SE as whole and that is not the way to go about. Whatever I say you're inclined not to believe. Do you know that SE phones in Japan are using 16 million colour Bravia screens and also recording at VGA 30fps? Also for your information the upcoming P5 records at the same resolution and framerate.

It is not that SE aren't capable of all those features it's their silly strategy that has so far backfired. SE hasn't abandoned UIQ, on the contrary, the upcoming P5 is a fully fledged UIQ device. They are just expanding their portfolio by entering Windows which would mean a few more customers and sales.

Don't look at the Xperia X1 through the eyes of a Nokia fan instead gather as much info then decide based on facts rather than uninformed sweeping statements.

Symbian os 9 is FAR more popular and widely used so how come Windows mobile has better 3rd party software?I'm serious, check what WM has.CorePlayer with embedded full youtube function, opera 9.5,netfront 3.5,skype,TomTom some really sophisticated apps like WinMobileTorrent,WMWiFi router there's even an AUTOCAD program!I don't think people are aware of the sheer quality and quantity for WM.

Have you ever tried viewing pdf\'s on n-series?It\'s a slow process plus your scrolling all over the place basically it\'s a waste of time.Web browsing isn\'t very good either, same problem scrolling about pages not being displayed properly etc. Pocket internet explorer views webpages as one column, default or desktop view Opera 9.5 or Netfront for WinMo have multiple configurations.Do you use Instant Messengers?most people do,try using an alpha numeric keypad for a few hours!!terrible experience far easier to use touchscreen or qwerty keyboard. This pattern is repeated time and time again eg try using remote desktop with n-series.Xperia X1 easily outpreforms n82,n95 etc on most tasks and hey it looks pretty damn good on the multimedia front too.

            nah mate, i disagree

the k850 camera was pathetic. all the photos are washed out and the video quality for a cameraphone is laughable.

also, if sony erricson had a great deal to do with this phone, they would have:

            1)run symbian uiq on it!
2)they would piss everyone off by adding a 65,79884 pin headphone connector and require an adapter!
3)they would make the video resolution as poor as possible to annoy everyone.

                @nick

You are entitled to your opinion but I wouldn't call Sony Ericsson phones crap.

If you think back (no, I'm not living in the past) Sony Ericsson were way ahead of Nokia in every department, their one high end smartphone (P series) per year and a half was so good that Nokia didn't know how to respond to it, their music phones were ahead and superior to anything Nokia could offer and their camera phones were equally superior to any Nokia phone.

All that was up until mid 2006. So what happened to SE? Complacency coupled with Nokia raising their game to compete. Now, I'm not saying Nokia were not competing it's just that they couldn't match Sony Ericsson strength for strength.

Late 2006 Nokia hit back and hit back hard, the tables were completely turned. SE found themselves were they put Nokia for about 5 years and it's their turn to up their game. Yes, up until now there's no SE phone to compete with SOME N series phones, some of the N series phones aren't all that but most of them are that good.

As for the camera crown SE lost it last year when the N82 was unleashed but prior to that SE were in the driver's seat. SE lost it by sitting back and not being innovative or thinking much about competition.

It does look like they learned a harsh lesson judging by their recent activity this year. I do think they are going to fight hard this year. If that happens we the consumers are in for a treat cause it means better products from both Nokia and Sony Ericsson and the rest of the manufacturers.

Oh, the Xperia X1 IS A SONY ERICSSON PRODUCT, HTC only build the device everything else was designed and created by Sony Ericsson. The Microsoft licensing issue is the reason why at this stage HTC is manufacturing it.

                Sorry for the long post.

Xperia X1 video records at 30FPS.Don\'t get hung up on tv-out I used it on n95 and it\'s crap. The output is all pixelated on your tv screen and video\'s do not play in dvd quality infact it\'s nowhere near dvd output.Try it and see....It\'s useless

don't make me laugh n95 isn't able to match x1.The qualcomm gps is streets ahead of the texas instrument one seen in n95.WiFi antenna is always better in ppc's,X1 has WVGA screen so you can watch your vga video recordings clearly.n95 screen has qvga resolution, everything you view on that crap screen has very low resolution QVGA lol lol X1 has superior HSDPA and HSUPA,touchscreen, qwerty you name it this baby does it.

SE is not able to give the TV out feature also in all their newest phones. Why???

the n95 was released in 2006 with VGA recording at 30fps. Still SE is not able to release a phone with VGA video recording at 30fps. This clearly demonstrates the limitations that SE is having in designing new phones.

I agree to that. Right from K700 they are having the same user interface till now. it has becoem very boring to use their phones nowadays when compared to other offerings like N82.

SE devices are designwise looking good. But features and performance are questionable.

this phone is not even released.
why the hell are people fighting for this phone which no one has ever seen also.
and no one knows the release date also.

N-series are best sellers because they have proven reliability as they have sold millions. XPERIA is under development now and we will come to know about the bugs after its release. May be the second version of XPERIA will be good enough.

XPERIA doesnt have a 5MP cam, TV out, eventhough it is touted as a high end phone. SE is cheating.
