Umm, whats the point of 7.1mp in a phone? Whats the point of 16M colors? Whats the point of Wimax when it wont be widely available for a while? Whats the point of 8GB when you have a microSD slot that will accept up to 32GB? Whats the point of HSDPA in a device with wimax? And who wants a projector in their phone?

Cellphone manufacturers are taking the public for a ride. They've segmented so much that they bring out phones well under-spec of what they're capable of making. That's how they make money.
They could easily make a 7.1mp camera phone, with touch screen 16M colors, Wifi, Wimax, Bluetooth, GPS, 8GB standard flash, HSDPA, and a tiny projector to play movies on a wall (yip, this can be done), along with all the usual things found on a Blackberry, iPhone or normal Sony Ericsson combined...
And I know what you iPhone fans are thinking, "The iPhone's got most of that"... And yes to a certain extent it does. But what's the good of creating a phone if it's not gonna be used in a lot of countries. Apple is being greedy, making exclusive partners and asking for percentage returns on calls made. At least that's what they want in South Africa. So our providers have given them the middle finger. I did too.
But having said all that, creating the ultimate phone from a manufacturers perspective, would just be silly - we'd all have the best phone and no one would really need an upgrade. Plus, it would be so difficult to make anything better. At the moment it's easy - there's always something new to add.
Ideally however, the cellphone manufacturers need to be looking at where we are going with the mobile device. Camera, GPS (more recently) and mobile communication is where we're at now, but it needs to be so much more. It needs to be an all-in-one mobile device that changes your TV channels, turns on the house lights, stove, alarm, opens your front door, starts your car, and pays for things like food at a convenience store...
Those are the areas mobile manufacturers should be looking into, since although I'm due for an upgrade, there isn't really anything available now, that my phone which is about 3 years old isn't capable of doing.
Sure, you get faster data speeds, but it's overrated.
Sure, I've only got a 2mp camera when i could have a 5mp one. But as any photographer knows, it's not about the mega-pixels, it's about the sensor.
Sure, you get touch screens now, but I've played with the iPhone and and HTC Touch, and let me tell you, having to sometimes push down more than once is irritating. The software is slower than keyboard input and unresponsive at times.
But one thing that I'm really looking forward to, and I say this assuming the next phone I get has the same functions it does now, is screen color and clarity. My phone is a 65K. If I'm going to use a mobile device, it has to be clear, crisp, and colorful. The interface has to be fast and responsive, and commonsense-like. It also has to be really comfortable to hold, not too thick, not too slippery so that it doesn't fall out my hand, and it needs to look really great. I'm sure a lot of people have thought the same when looking for a girlfriend...
So yea, I'm due for an upgrade. Do I want any of the phones available? No. Will I ever be excited about a phone coming out? Possibly. But that will depend on the manufacturers and their segmentation...

Stupid are those who speak just about number of colors when they compare Operating Systems and cell phones. Probably that is the only technical detail they understand.

Thanks for the info. Will it be up for sale on Sony Style as soon as it is in production, or do we have to wait for carriers to get it first and exclusive deals ect?

skype option fm radio am radio recorder
voice recorder all blackberry office capability you know the appoitment pop up
stuff and all that tri sim card ports
infrared port micro sd card slot 80 gb memory just for music a phone book with up to 50000 entries and a small projecter on the back next to the camera to play movies on a wall a laser pointer ciggarette lighter
a keychain swiss army knife (slides out from the back)the pen thing that comes for the screen also in the box keyboard that connects to it to type and a full qwerty keyboard and a lock button and uhhh ohh that thing that hears music then downloads it directly from the net and uhh you know the uhh speakers built into the phone
and a thing that tracks your jogging and the
finger print analyzer thing for the lock
and google android built in and windows mobile and blackberry messenger and windows live messenger and snes sega emulators
and a printer on the back that prints wallet size photos and it doesnt flip or slide or any of the other crap i want it to be the size of a credit card and expand to iphone size
would that make all you complainers happy?

was a bit shaky at first but now with the updated versions its so much more than what it appears to be this will take over

Thor, X50V is the name of a Dell device that runs windows mobile. It was released years ago, and ever since then, WM manufactures have all but stopped releasing PDAs (without the phone). Therefore it is arguably one of the best non-phone PDAs ever released, though HP just decided to get back in the game.
And while a port of Android may or may not happen, a dual boot will surely never happen. :) Thats just my opinion.
Yes, it will have a stylus pen.
