phoenix, 06 Nov 2009so...what do you think about X5? My opinion is that is a fashion phone, and not a smartphone, or a multimedia phone. SE just wanted to show they have a great technology, and they have, this is a NEW technology, and after 10 years probably we will have only transparent screen phones, and if SE started this, they will be the BEST! I have some infos about SE Kurara, the phone will be available on the first quarter of 2010, this mean SE will announce another smartphone probably this year!!! aahahaha...man! just look at the daily interest percentage! this phone is magnificent...how cares about the screen color?!i`m sure it will be so cool in quality...

Personaly, i dont care about the screen colors. I´ll wait and see when they show of some inlife pic/videos/games from the phone. Even if 65k sounds little compared to 256k or 16 million, i dont think it will have a big effect on such a "small" screen, and honestly, i dont think that someone reacted after the x10 videos "ohh there is to little colors".

Alright, 65k color screen is still to be our object (are we not tired talking this for days?) whether u want to defend it or to attack.
But first, never judge a case without any cause. For u that been thinking this phone would be pitiful by using 65k color screen, is that only amount of color that makes you comfort while looking at the display, what about brightness and contrast? And also to the defenders of this specs, is that really 16 millions color useless for a small display? Our eyes as it believed are capable to discriminating as many as 10 millions color and able to recognize a different dot pixel in a small area. Less color capability makes color gradation more visible and it hurts your eyes.
And the second thing, oh there's no the 2nd, forgive me. Talking about sony ericsson means talking THE NUMBER 1.

You posted a great comment, well done man! :D I don't have too problems with the screen, all the Windows Mobile phones have 65K colours, coz the OS can't support much. Maybe the version 7 will support 256K colours, or even more. This phone is better than the Satio, the Satio is better only at the camera, but the X10 is the KING! :)

Hi, I have two questions regarding this phone. Is the OS upgradable to Cupcake? And is there radio hardware in the phone that needs a program to run it or there's no radio at all? And I can't do anything about it.

there is sound recorder application on x1, i cant explain you if you dont know about winmo OS. In the winmo OS you can window explore it like your PC and you can find the application in there.
to make it easy, someone tried to make a guide at :

By the way, about x10 color.For me it is not problem, it is not only for me but HTC users. If you ever touch x1 or HTC phone with 65k color then you will say 'it is okay, no problemo!!wow!!great screen!!" X1 screen is much..much better than N95 or the other 16million phone whereas the x1 color number is much..much smaller than 16Million colors.
it means color is not everything, Sony screen quality is good. Many people just look a word of white paper but not in actual quality.For example N95 16m colors screen is bad.wake up!!
My friend didnt realize that my X1 color is just 65k colors, he though x1 had 16m colors. Maybe someone can give you an explanation that human eyes can detect or distinguish 16m colors in theority but if your friend doesnt know everything about phones, pls ask him ' which phone use 16m colors or 65k colors? OR x1 or n95 ? iam sure your friend doesnt know which 16m color phone is or he will choose X1.
look at x10 screen, it is sharp, bright and clear, isnt it ?
about TFT is good enough for indoor and outdoor but AMOLED is very great in indoor but not in outdoor, also AMOLED has limited life, the quality will be decresed slowly time by time because amoled is an organic light. Everything has strength and weakness, advantage and disanvantage.
OR do you want to have 16m colors screen but the screen is not sharp and bright like n95?
16m colors is useless for phone screen,, it is like 20MP camera image on phone screen, you cant see the pixel as much as 20MP on phone screen, phone screen has limitation.
about radio ? is there any android phone has radio feature right know ? SE know that then try to help you, you hear radio they make hi fi wireless fm radio headset for x10, this is an solution from SE but samsung galaxy and motorola milestone ??? you must thanks to SE. and this X10 can be upgraded to android 2.0.
