To be honest I doubt it makes alot of difference. I have a samsung vibrant. I was excited when I heard about froyo, but now that I have it, I notice that there is little difference from eclair. Mostly, new icons, faster performance in games, the ability to turn off mobile data, and flash in the web browser. That's it. I can't say I'm impressed tbh, I expected more for a change in OS version but it feels like the exact same phone..

If you charge your phone next time let it charge at least 30 minutes as of the moment the phone says FULLY CHARGED. Do not let yourself to be fooled by the green light. After the Eclair update the green light turns green when the battery is charged 90% and stays this way until it is unplugged (compared to Donut when the green light turned off when it was supposedly full). And try to NOT USE the phone while charging or at least try to use it as less as possible. Especially during this additional 30-40 minutes.
Today I charged my phone that way, except that I let it stay plugged in after reaching full approximately 45 minutes instead of 30 and the battery use is the following:
Cell standby 33% 10h 13m
Phone idle 21% 9h 34m
Voice calls 19% 15m 13s
Display 13% 39m 9s
World War 6% 9m 30s
Android System 4% 5m 48s
Andorid core apps 2% 2m 33s
And the phone says that 78% of the battery left.

What seems to be the problem?
Update is available via SEUS. u just need to go ahead even if it says ur phone is on the latest software but just make sure its downloading 160 odd mb n not 120 odd mb...

Ok i received somethings about the new update (android 2.1) so i updated the review:
--The first thing that catches our eyes and makes everyone jealous is the nice and sleek design :P
--And the huge shiny scratch resistant screen! TFT capacitive touch screen at 4 inches - 854×480 pixels. Shows 65k color, there is no word about getting an update to 16m color yet. the screen looks great even with 65k color, but 16m color is something else in my opinoin.
--Then the unique and beautiful UI! The Mediascape and Timescape, they've got even better after the update, fast, smooth and lovely with better transition. and also auto scrolling for timescape that lets you read messages without opening them and more capacity for tiles. and mediascape manager has improved.
--And the excellent 8MP camera that is fool featured: autofocus, LED flash (but it's still a photo light) touch focus, image stabilization, geo-tagging, face and smile detection (it can recognize up to 5 face to save their picture between previous taken pictures from those people or under their contacts), among HD video recording with continuously auto focus! isn't it GREAT?! but HD playing remains good because of the limited amount of colors that screen is capable of showing.
--3.5mm audio jack & micro USB port and 8GB memory card included, officially supports 16GB but 32GB memory has been successfully tested on it!
--the whole 384mb of RAM is available now with android 2.1 and the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor is still kicking.
--Android 2.1 so you can use lots of applications and games from android market.
--And the build quality is excellent and it really feels awesome and absolutly comfortable in hand.
Other improvements due to android 2.1:
--Live wallpaper
--Social phonebook
--New web browser UI
--Thumbnail view for bookmarks
--New call UI
--New keyboard with default android skin
--New widgets
--New 3D gallery
--New facebook client UI
--overal better performance

check Network mode, and try to select GSM only. Dual mode and 3G mode consumes more power.

I have had the x10 for about 2 weeks now and really like the phone and it's user friendly facillities but only get about 8 - 10 hours of use on standby with the normal 3 - 4 daily calls. When I go to battery info, it cleverly shows what applications are being used by the phone. A typical readout of battery information is - CELL STANDBY - 37% / PHONE IDLE - 33% which are the two main power users bearing in mind that my gps and bluetooth apps are off.
What else can I do to get longer useage??
