hello i m from mumbai india igot this hand set yesterday but im unable to connect to web or android market i even activated the gprs please help my carrier is vodafone

rumo, 29 Jul 2010Helix Launcher for android 1.6 is not in the market, you ha... moreNo problems on my widget. Make sure to reset your phone after you install helix. I had the same problem when I didn't restart after installing helix.
Quick update for everyone, my phone is up for 48 hours now and the battery is still at 40%. My usage is as follows:
- 2g only
- 1 to 2 hours of wifi and bluetooth per day
- 1 to 2 hours of games (love the games) per day
- tried GPS for 1 hour using mapdroyd
- a couple of calls and text messages per day
- tried watching a movie (AVI) using yxflash
- I got my alarms ON always
- notifications ON always
- custom led lights for new SMS (using ringo pro) always
- max volume for the entire day
- medium volume at night
- data connection off
- background data off
- screen brightness to zero but the sensor is still working (weird), the screens still adjusts to the surrounding
This is after installing helix. Before helix, I got a max of 1 and a half days only. After helix, the phone is awesome.

kostakis, 30 Jul 2010how can i send music or picture by bluetooth?? :SYou can only do so once the Eclair update is available for this phone. Android 1.6 doesn't allow sending stuff through Bluetooth

Still in india there is no 3G service for vodafone so m not able to see. At the moment by Basic GPRS packet is on and i can see a E symbol on my top screen.
Anyways will try to get it through the wifi network and check.
By the way can any1 tell me -does this phone have a inbuilt application for twitter like facebook?

Helix Launcher for android 1.6 is not in the market, you have to download it from other place, like here:

Anyone who is using it, have you notice that widgets do not work? They can be added to desktop, but they are in a passive state, do not toggle, do not update(clock). Or am i the one having problem?

Guys... morehi! try to turn off your phone for 2-5 mins then once you turn it on again, go to settings, find wireless controls, then mobile networks then turn on the data traffic (put check on it). then try to connect to the browser again. if you see the 3G sign on top, then ur GPRs is already activated. if it still does'nt work,then check again you settings.. ^_^ hope this will help you!

SEX2, 29 Jul 2010I don't even mind if they don't upgrade. I love this phone,... moreI cant seem to find helix launcher on my android market :( I'm in australia.
Apart from the battery life, this phone is quite awesome!
It's nice and compact while the screen doesnt feel small at all...in fact it's a nice size for comfortable 1 hand use.
Also the screen res doesnt seem as bad as all the reviews of qvga androids make them out to be...or maybe i just havent been spoiled by high res screens!
Although i do find only having 3x3 icons per page in the menu a bit inconvenient as the number of pages of apps/games installed grow!
Also the 1 widget per screen makes all the cool small icon sized widgets for toggling on/off wifi/gps/led light etc. useless.

Guys... more@GN'R-what i guess by ur talk's is that maybe the service provider of ur mobile(vodafone,airtel,etc) have the problem with their browsing server's...check if the internet service is properly activated on ur mobile....if still the problem exist's then try removing ur sim and clean it(to remove some kinda dust) and then insert it again....if still it doesnt works then contact the customer care of ur service provider and not of sony....hope it helps... :)

I m from Mumbai - India and got this phone on sunday.
Guys i am unable to connect to the Android Market. When i tap on market it asks me to connect through google account and when i sign in using my gmail detials it says
"This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. Please try again when connected. if it continues call customer care"
I am using basic gprs services and Sony cust care said basic gprs is enough to connect to android market.
Any1 has a solution to this?? please reply its urgent.
