My X2 has the same issues like yours, except by the melodies one, but mine also have the problem with slit cracking of screen in the same corner of the cavity in the lower left angle, wich i think is located the microphone.

I personally hav... moreYes, the update fix some bugs like phone never freeze when turning on the wifi, enable radio and video call, etc. However it brings us some another bugs. It automatically delete my files stored in my memory card, freeze without any reason and lot more problem that people here have been talking about... I realize that everyone has a different problems, I don't know why...

nice product of Sony Ericsson. Beautiful look and great fatures are available in this phone. From my point of view this handset must get 10 out of 10 for its features.

a girl, 12 Apr 2010today.. all files in my memory card suddenly being deleted ... moreIt may be the memory card you're using. Try replacing it. I'm using kingmax 8GB micro sdhc class 6.
I don't think the brand matters but you should be using sdhc instead of just sd. It also helps if you have a higher class, i think the highest right now is class 6. The number after the class means the amount of mb that your card can read/write. Currently, there are class 2, 4, and 6 cards.

- 2g only
- couple of SMS in a day (averaging 10)
- some calls 1-2 in a day lasting for a 1-2 minutes
- games (pocket uno)
- bluetooth connection to my car
- wifi usage (1-2 times on a single charge)
- alarm clock every day
- some movies for a minute or 2

SE 2010, 13 Apr 2010Actually noobie I tried getting the files back several ways... morewaahahaha ok then i'm not the only one again my x2 sometime can't locate my memory card.. easy fix just restart the phone.. and thanks for the advices SE2010..

x2 noobie, 13 Apr 2010a girl.. i was thinking i was the only have this problem wi... moreActually noobie I tried getting the files back several ways but I just failed. So for now, my suggestion is to be sure to have a back up for your memory card on your laptop just in case.
Sometimes the device don't read the memory card, which is fine because I can fix the problem. But the disaster happens when the device erases the data on the sd card! I still love my X2 though, even with all it flaws, and I truly hope SE makes a very good update for this handset.

a girl.. i was thinking i was the only have this problem with my memory card.. once day its there and next its not.. but the funny thing for me is the memory card is empty but it still shows 700mb used.. lock.. SE2010 any idea getting those data back

I totally understand where your coming from, what's happening to you is totally unacceptable. And I really think you are a patient person because otherwise you would have sell the phone now or just leave it! I know you love your phone and it has many things to offer you, because I am in your same shoes now. I just blame SE for not fixing all the bugs and issues with the X2 before releasing it.
I have heard from reliable sources that confirmed to me that the coming update in May will be a huge one! In fact, it will turn the X2 in to the device it truly deserves to be. May is coming soon anyway, so I guess this is our last hope and let's hope that SE really do the job right this time to make us all happy again :)
Take care and remember always make a backup for the memory card on your pc just in case the X2 goes crazy and decide to delete it.

Rani, 12 Apr 2010Guys ..Request u to please help me in making selection betw... moreThe Xperia X2 is a much much better device from N97, specially if you know how to use it and how it functions. However, I finally realize that the Xperia X2 is only recommended after the incoming update in next May, which should also have the wm version 6.5.3.
Other than that you should wait, and by the way the N97 is not recommended because it also has many flaws and problems. In fact, the flaws and bugs surpasses the X2.

I suggest you go to ( setting/phone/band/GSM)
instead of choosing Auto choose the GSM option. This will probably give you 3-4 hours extra. Remember you only need to change this option again if you will be using video calling, other than that it's better to keep it this way in order to get a better battery life that will last longer.

Have u all actually update like it sad on SE update site...you have first to download a cab from SE and install that cab on your mem card,after that u proceed to update in SEUS and this is the only and correct way..if you format your card before update you do not update correctly and phone has issues...

i just bought this phone last weekend and the SE personnel there gave me a free update. Wow the phone is fantastic and i dont see any flaws. Cheers!

today.. all files in my memory card suddenly being deleted automatically for the second time.. geezz...
then this time i tried to format it using N81..
lets see what happen.. hope this is the last time it delete all of its contents by itself.. geezz.. so not nice..

Dont be fooled by the other comments here. I personally have been using the x2 for months now. I can consider myself as one of the first to have this phone and I can honestly say that before the update this phone has alot of problems (phone freezes after turning on the wifi, slow movement, radio still factory lock) BUT after the update everything is working well. I dont understand what the others are saying that the phone is still the same. Maybe they dont really have the x2 in their hands. I have enjoyed this phone since the update everything is running smoothly. so its up to you to decide who to believe and who is lying here..
