Delay is due to Vodafone customizations only.
Contacted SE Philippines and it's due sometime next week (3rd week of December 2009). May get a little later but definitely before Christmas 2009, the rep said. And it will retail at around PHP 34500.
Can't wait.

On UK's store of Sony Ericsson the Expected launch date has been changed from 9th December to Jan , 10. Good thing for me I can continue to squeeze money out of clients to get my hands on to it.

i never Knew it was out on the sony ericsson website it says it comes out on the 1st january !!//* and if its out where can you get it and how much is it ??

its officially out now. i received a mail in the morning from Sony Ericsson that the X2 is up for sale(in India). im happy that its out before Christmas. im gonna get one very soon.
it would be great if gsmarena updates the review soon with the final retail version. take care.

if X2 use chip 600Mhz same some new htc's model phone , maybe i think i'll buy X2 , but in specification's X2 still use chip same X1 , too stupid , just re-design va updrage cam 8.0 , every inside is same X1 , so bored

It also actives while you pull your finger out from the screen at a certain distance.

It is used to lock touch screens when you are in a call and you have set against your ear. I think HTC is also using it to change ringtones automatically if handset is in pocket. There are other uses as well for example auto-mute.
