About the 2nd con you mentioned (memory card thing), I also experienced that not only the content is completely erased, but also after few hours of usage the card itself is not detected by the device. So for example when I turned on the camera, there's a message on the screen like 'please insert memory card..so on and so on'.
This is so frustrating because I have to restart the device each time just to make the SD card readable.
Do you have any permanent solution to this?
Thanks,

Sony Ericsson says no to Windows Phone 7 and tablets
========================
Don’t expect Sony Ericsson to
roll out any tablets or Windows Phone 7 devices anytime soon,
according to SonyEricsson
France CEO Pierre Perron, who recently spoke to the French newspaper Les Echos.
The news is a snub against Microsoft by the world ’s fourth-
largest phone manufacturer, and a potential sign that tablets are becoming overplayed.
Perron confirmed that the company is in talks with Microsoft about creating Windows Phone7 devices in the
future, but he said that it ’s
unlikely that SonyEricsson would adopt the platform due to
Microsoft ’s strict hardware specifications and software limits.
Such a move would “run the risk of standardizing our smartphones ” he said, and he
added that the company wouldn ’t want to compete based on price and design alone.
As for tablets, Perron seemed to dismiss the idea entirely, saying that SonyEricsson didn ’t want to be the 24th company to roll one out. Given how much reports of Android tablets are beginning to
blur together, I don ’t blame
Perron for being somewhat negative. Then again, the fact that SonyEricsson has nothing new to contribute with tablets is also telling - what was stopping the company from beating out
the Android competition with a tablet?
The news follows rumors from last week that Sony Ericsson was readying Windows phones for early next year . The company launched its first Android smartphone in the US, the Xperia X10, after a string of delays in August. Right now, the company would be better off focusing its efforts on more
Android phones, instead of trying to deal with an entirely new platform.
Of course, anything Perron says right now is subject to change.
And since he ’s a regional executive, the news also has less weight than if it came straight from Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg.

Jay Phil, 19 Nov 2010se2010, im planning to buy this phone for christmas, i hope... moreHey Jay,
I hope your doing well today. Actually, since you will be getting your phone next year I think you could find better alternarives such as the X10 or the X10 mini pro
In case you need a keyboard like me.
Anyway to answer your question here we go :
> In reply to Ray @ 2010-11-16 18:13 from kWrT
Cons :
1- sms bug ( the ring tone cuts off while in standby mode, meaning you won't hear the complete ring tone)
2- Sometimes the phones go crazy and erase all your memorycard data! However, you could easily prevent this by installing the sdcard fix which is available on the web for free)
3- since your using a windows mobile os, than you must expect the lag and crushes that will come a long, it's a windows curse that no one can avoid, however, in the case of the phone it's not terrible, and I assure you that it only happens once in a while.
4- Video recording quality is poor, and it seems there is a problem with it.
Pros :
1- very good looking device, made of a brilliant high quality material.
2- the 8MP camera is a blessing and you best you can get on a windows mobile phone.
3- Keyboard in one word (Wow), the best keyboard I used till date, if you like typing/texting a lot like me, you will find it very useful indeed.
4- gorgeous TFT(LCD) screen and one of the best LCD screens you could find in the mobile industry.
5- Very fast browsing internet experience and after the update the touch screen is more responsive and more user friendly since all the icons are bigger now.
Hope this helps :)
Cheers

I think this happened after SE switched from being made in Japan to China :P
Because I agree the previous handsets were better, but still SE standards apply and therefore even though they are made in China, but the quality must be high otherwise SE will refuse to approve it.

I must admit the X2 looks much better and the camera and keyboard are superior to the X1.
However, from experience I can tell you that the X1 is more stable and has less problems from the X2. If you never owned a windows mobile device, maybe it would be better if you begin with the X1.
Hope this helps :)
