x2 newbie , 01 Oct 2010yes it works on x2, i used it back then, its fun to use but... moreI have installed it on my X2, but SWYPE functionality is not working..it behaves like normal keyboard only..I can't SWYPE.. i have to type each character..are you able to do it ? how to activate SWYPE functionality ??

If you can afford a wp7 wi... moreYup, I'll get my X10 this month, its so much cheaper now than 6 months ago, the X11, probably a few months after its release & after positive reviews.:-) Only tried symbian & java, Have tinkered with it extensively though, had fun installing lots of apps & games on it & scary moments as well when I moded & hacked system files w/c almost turned it into a $600 paper weight. 8-{ IMO, symbian is quiet stable, simple but effective OS but I had enough of it, time to move on & try other OSs. A lot considered android to be the future coz its open source but this new windows OS (WP7) is quiet interesting, who knows what surprises it has in store for us. :-) So whats your next move man? get an X11? X12? or both? :-)

Brilliant dude just brilliant! If you can afford a wp7 with an android handset, I can't find a better way to emerge the latest out of technology better than that!
Both os's will have their big ++ and -- and it's a good way to decide what fits you better in the future :)
By the way I have experienced : symbian - java - bada - wm - ios - android.
My personal preference is : wm - ios- android - java - bada - symbian.
I know some people may kill me because I preferred wm over advanced os's such as ios and android but it's just personal preferences, who knows maybe it's because I'm getting older :>
When I get older I will be stronger, they'll call me freedom, just like a wavin' flag :P

A quick comparison between the Sony ericsson X1 & X2 :
the X1 over the X2 :
1- the radio and video calling were included from the first place.
2- I find wm 6.1 much more stable than 6.5 which is indeed buggy.
3- you can make a playlist from the device it self.
4- comes with very good headphones unlike the crappy ones that you get with the x2.
5- Since the X1 has been almost 2 years in the market, this means you can find more solutions for it's problem + there has been a lot development going on for it, such as switching the device to wm 6.5 or android.
the X2 over X1 :
1- a brilliant 8.1 mp camera with better lens and sensors over the 3.2 mp in the x1.
2- wm 6.5 is considered more touch friendly because of the bigger fonts and icons.
3- a bigger screen and a more elegant looking device with a better keyboard and better overall hardware.
4- More panels + the option of scheduling the time the panels appear in the day.
5- the x2 didn't suffer from the cracks that happened to some of the X1 users.
6- better touch screen responsiveness.
Summary : both devices are good, but honestly even if it's hard for me to say this. But I believe the X1 is a better choice than the X2, although the X2 is more advanced and should be way advanced!
With the X1 your sd memory card will never be erased, and you will have less crushes indeed! with a more stable and less buggy os.
P.S : I own them both and still use them both and love them both as well! but the X2 just looks dam* good compared to the X1 :)

If those supposed "rumors" you just posted turns out to be true, then I'll surely skip X2 & go for X11 WP7 phone instead after I get the X10 so I'll have a windows phone & a droid phone as well. Want to see how these 2 OSs compares w/each other. :-)
Ok man, hope you will benefit from the DG theory too & yes, SE, as a smartphone maker, sure does have the most impressive Resume for the job. :-)

Hey dear,
From what your saying it seems that your phone is not updated and therefore It's expected to have some issues.
As my friend x2 noobie stated you need to download SEUS ( Sony Ericsson Update Service), just google it.
After that there are some simple steps that you need to do in order to install the update to your cellphone.
The X2 is a good device, you just need to be patient to fully understand how it operates.

Tips to improve your battery :
1- lower the brightness level
2- lower the time of standby mode ( i.e instead of 2 min make it 30 sec)
3- switch from a 3g network to a 2g network band.
4- switch off wi-fi and bluetooth when not in use.

guys, help me out pls. i've bee... moreit sounds like u need to update ur phone from SEUS. goto SE download the update program first..
there is also need to goto xda and download some fix for your SD cards and so on also there is lots of fix and dips to make your phone faster.

guys, help me out pls. i've been an SE user since 2010. i've been its loyal fan to this phone and started a hype in the office to use an SE phones...yet just a week ago, i bought my SE X2 and it broke my heart..first, charging was awful..it would not tell me if its full and i've waited for 6 hours for it..2ndly, the battery drains easily, no radio, etcc..etccc...
i'm not losing hope though i know that there's still something good about this phone internally..because otherwise i will have to return this and phone and never to look back w/ SE again..huhuhu!
to SE 2010, if this reminds u of ur gf..this reminds me of my BF who just makes beautiful promises but promises only!!!

I bought an X-peria 2 about two weeks before. This phone is only a wastage of money. It's battery life lasts less then 24 hours with minimum calls. The shop owner is telling me that he has no spare battery available. I am in deep soup now.

I am also considering this X11 in the future specially that it has a keyboard. However, I may also switch to android since it has very high end features like the ones stated in the X12.
By the way what happened to outsby and a girl? are they alive, dead, got married lool. It's been a while since I spoke with those guys :)

By the way I think if your going for the X10 there is no need to buy an x2 afterwards. It's either you go for the x2 than the x10, but I don't think it works the opposite way around hehe.
Because the x10 is far more advanced than the x2 in my opinion. And mainly that's because the os which is android.
Anyway, keep the double gain theory going on, I liked it ;)

... moreyes... if only they will make it.. being SE user for a long time.. there problem is they design the phone and for some reason it take them years to acturlly bring them out.. if it comes with a 1.?? to 1.5ghz then its going to be a real killer in the smartphone market..
then again like i say the top managers at SE is too old, they will say its too fast. hehehehe just joking
