antquestion, 14 May 2021I was searching something lighter and small... only Xperia ... morethe rumored 4g s21 is out there? also it might be a bit unfair to compare the mii 11 lite 5g to a phone that isn't out yet; the xperia 10 III could perform quite well once it's out. you also get a 3.5mm jack, punchhole-free screen, and slightly higher mAh battery on the 10 III.

I was searching something lighter and small... only Xperia series or Samsung are not too Wide. Under 500€ however i can only found used s21 not 5g or Xperia 5 II or Xperia 10 Mark II. Now i refeive the preorder for the Xperia 10 III, which Is at 429. I suppose 369/399 in a fare months.
But i can find NOW at 350€ the new Mi 11 Lite 5G which has:
- snapdragon a lot more powerful than the Xperia 10 III
- anterior gorilla glass and matte finish back
- blazing speedl unlock lateral as the Xperia
- 128gb + 8gb and microsd
- Amazing triple camera with Wide, a Little zoom and 64mp
- dual gps
- NFC and 5g and infrared + 5.2 bkuetooth
- 4250mah that last over 105 hours
- phone Is not rated against water bit gas a Little protection
- phone Is 74mm Wide but only 6,8mm Thick and weight 159gr
So they are quote comparabile and Mi 11 lite 5g Wins unless you really Need small and waterproof phone

By the way gorrila glass is just a gimmick and 5D screen protector for 3-5 bucks does the same for cheap price. So having no GG glass or GG6 makes no sense if a 3-5 bucks protector can do same tricks.
Oled or LCD it doesnt mattter for basic customer it will be likely same. On a direct sunlight LCD preforms better and also doesnt leave burns and maps like OLED screen after long time use or set brightness to max for too long.
SD 662 or 690 is liely same by te way 75% countries dont have 5G yet so for 6 billion of population 4G is enough. I dont understand why you even mentioned it.
Wide and ultrawide is likely same and having both is useless and obsollete. Its like when you run any samsung phone and have a google chrome brownser and samsung brownser on same device. For every single user one browser is enough having both where you cant delete one of them is plain stuopid this is the same. If you have ultrawide camera you dont need wide one.
By the way Poco M3 have Macro and depth which Sony dont have for close range sots it preforms better.
And finaly i can honestly guarantee you it will last at least 3-4 years.
Even if this sony phone will last 20 years after 2 years gets old and 90% people will sell it and buy new one so having a phone which can last infinity of time is just plain stupid if 90% of users esppecialy people with age of 40 and less would like to buy new phone every 2-3 years.
Mostly on a plan or contract from their network provider.
So again paying 300 more for a equal device is plan stupid.
By the way Poco M3 have reverse charging which Sony dont have. And 18W charging or 30W is likely the same.
Last thing brand name doesnt means better quality.
Just look at the apple for example and their battery problems and not only that but i am tired complaining this robbery on a customer company.

Anonymous, 13 May 2021I really do like Sony, a lot but 429€ even for a mid ranger... moreas if the soc will spoil... it is not a perishable good, besides you are not only paying for soc, you also pay for an oled display capable of handling billion colors without any obstruction like notch or hole, ip certified, front facing speakers, etc.
but if these difference from other makers are not important to you - some people does not care about ip certification, a notch or hole, some people even liked it like a feature - then you are free to look for other phones you are able to buy...
buying a phone, just because you "love" it will turn to hate when it is not really what you can use...

I see absolutely no reason to have that Poco apart from its large battery. Frankly speaking, I'd be more than happy to pay more for better quality than spending less with a lot of cutting corners on the hardware.

I really do like Sony, a lot but 429€ even for a mid ranger Sony SD690 from last year...That´s just too much to ask for

The €430 price is the phone bundled with €100 bluetooth headphones. I think we can expect this phone to be sold for €350 / $350. $300 would be better, but I think $350 is overall a good price for this phone and probably the best priced Sony in years. The Xperia 10 II didn't have the specs to match the price, but this one is close enough.

I have read here and in other sections of this website about Sony's market share for all things smartphone. This can in turn be problematic for accessory makers.
With this in mind, yesterday I contacted Krusell to ask if they will be bringing out any cases for the III range. I have chosen their cases in the past as I know them to be good quality.
I have just received their response and they advise that no final decision has been taken whether or not to support the range but that they may do so within the next 4 weeks.
There are other cases that are available from other brands - Olixar for one - but these are man made leather/leather effect and from my experience not of great quality.
Watch this space...
