Im thinking about getting this to replace my Galaxy A70 which is 6 years old and dying, but one of the things that stops me is no Always on Display,no LED notification,No touch to wake up,what the hell Sony.I like the 6.1 size and the 3.5mm jack but goddamn this phone lacks so many features.Even at 280€ im not completely sure :(

For their next generation of phones, Sony should change the screen aspect ratio. Better SOC for the mid-ranger. Otherwise these phones are great!

That sounds embarrassing for a phone with this kind of price coming from a brand that's supposed to have good product quality.
About youtube and keyboard closing issue, I also have it on different phone with different youtube app, happens language, could be issue of google messing up either the keyboard or the yourtube app.

Bought this phone in Sep 2024 and I am honestly so disappointed in myself. I'm not rich so I can't afford to buy a new phone and sell this one so I'm gonna have to live with my decision for a few years. Let's start with the cons:
- Even after a month or two of using the phone is already lagging and so many screen bugs. The screen froze that locking and unlocking didn't work I had to reboot.
- The camera is also disappointing. Rare occasions it turns out good, but mostly it's really bad, overprocessed. Sometimes in lowlights/backlight it processes the image so hard that my face was completely darkened until you can't see your face and no editing can fix it. I hate that you can't lock the brightness. So if you're filming a video it's very annoying the brightness will go up and down and at the wrong times.
- It's supposed to be water resistant up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. I was not even 20cm in the waters and the screen is all f**ked it can't even detect me touching the screen. For like a few days it kept saying there's debris/liquid in the charging port even though I've been drying the phone. It took like 3 days before the notification was gone.
- The battery life span was seriously good until I went travelling and was confused by the very quick battery draining. I was on airplane mode all the time to save battery but it still drained bcs I used the camera a lot. The speed it drains is insane! It's a brand new phone! The battery works like it's an old phone after only 4 months use! - The charging also takes a very long time for battery care. There is an option to charge faster but it doesn't always appear so idk when does it decide to charge slow or fast.
- There's some bugs on some apps like YouTube and IG which are so damn annoying such as the keyboard closing when I want to search for an emoji while typing on IG story, and comment replies appearing way way down on YouTube and keep playing the same Shorts even though I already clicked back and on another shorts (YouTube).
Pros:
- I honestly bought it for the 3.5mm jack which I truly appreciate. There's not a lot of phones out there that has earphone jack and wide angle camera.
- I also love how narrow this phone is it's perfect. I hate how big phones are nowadays.
This is my first time ever leaving a review on this platform bcs I've never been so disappointed. I paid 1,799MYR for this phone despite people saying I can get a better phone for this price. I cannot give up earphone jack. I bought it because of some convincing comments and reviews about the Sony brand guarantee, especially from Sony hardcore fans. It took me months of research and comparison before I made my decision. So to experience all these lags, bugs, just a few months and even a few weeks of using?? Of course I'm fckng sad. I can't afford another phone. I saved up for months. I wish all newer phones have earphone jack and wide angle camera so my options aren't so limited😭 I have an extended Sony warranty but the Sony centre reviews are so bad I don't wanna waste my time and energy. I don't have a backup phone for me to just send this phone to a centre. I just hope this phone lasts at least 4 years until I can afford another phone.

My opinion? Sony is closing its mobiles department soon . let me explain:
1. It's flagships have great built and battered BUT can't compete with other flagships, especially in camera and A.I department, plus they are too expensive.
2. The Xperia 5 series have been cancelled..
3. Sony does not care about the Xperia 10 series: I had to sell my Xperia 10 vi because the video stabilisation was very choppy, like 30% stable, but after 2-3 months or so they released an update which made stabilisation good for up to 70% maybe? I still have the Xperia 10 v mainly due to the telephoto camera which the Xperia 10 vi lacks.. The 10 v has not seen an update for more than 3 months, not even security patches. The good thing with the Xperia 10 series is that you can easily import a gcam which does wonders for camera, but still, video recording in general is very average, and useless at night, which also goes for the Xperia 1 series ..
I BELIEVE WE WILL NOT GO UP TO HAVING AN XPERIA 1 X (10), Sony will follow the LG path and it's sad.. I used to have all Sony Xperia 5 flagships but stopped on th Xperia 5 iv due to overheating. Am a Pixel boy now, even if they have stupid issues with notifications, 5g network etc

I don't get why the newer phone Xperia 10 vi does not have android 15 update in the UK yet, but older Xperia 5 v phone does.
