Anonymous, 27 Apr 2020But blue dies first, so screen goes reddish. Then you can... moreYes but bigger blue subpixel radiate more light (and degradation is slower). If he lose 40% of brightnes he can still be bright.

B&H added Xperia 1II. There is no price and no shipping date. But every angle of the phone is shown. Check it out!

I've noticed that the placement of the antennas are the same as Xperia 1.

Kudabadi, 27 Apr 2020Please sony can u make more width next time everything is p... moreAfter getting used to, it doesn't seem as narrow.
before I had 16:9 6inch and 6.5inch
6inch was good, but 6.5inch 16:9 was way too wide.
21:9 6.5inch is really nice in the hands.
Also something cool the 21:9 aspect ratio can do.
https://i.imgur.com/rSz8sVA.png (the video stream was trash quality LOL)
a full 16:9 video with chat, I think it fits really well.

OLED got traction because of few things: manufacturers want it because it requires less components and is thinner, marketing people want it cause it's some new technology so they are spinning it as newer - better.
I couldn't care less about 120Hz as long as they cannot produce pure white and do frequency shifts on a slightest tilt or rotation

Telephone, 26 Apr 2020I think it is the Blue led that degrade the quickest.
Red ... moreYes. The blue is the one who dies first.
This is why there is a weibo post about someone plans to use a RBBG oled.
1080p with same pixel density of 4K.
I suspect it is 5 ii, because person compared to 6,5" 3840x1644.

Wasn't the first non-organic Blue LED invented in the 90s, Like the first "good" blue led

Or is OLED a really old tech now and soon to be replaced by microled.

YogiBear83, 26 Apr 2020Yes you are right. High brightness on OLED make some color ... moreI think it is the Blue led that degrade the quickest.
Red is lowest energy above infrared
Blue is highest energy below ultra violet
Blue leds requires more voltage than red leds
I remember my coworker had a galaxy s6, and the keyboard was burned into the screen. it was tinted red where the keyboard normally would be. (green and blue somehow burned out quicker than the red)

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2020Personally I don't play games on my mobile, only so 60 Hz (... moreyeah, as it's turned out just from reading this page, some people want to have 120hz badly, if the phone doesn't have it then it must be crappy phone :D
so why stop there? why not 240hz?
2k/4k/8k.120hz 240hz 360hz are all great. if i could buy it at affordable price, i would. but we speaking of mobile devices here, as far as i know it's still need battery to power them on and batteries have their own capacity, it's not infinity, it's not like we power them on at power outlet all the time. personally i prioritize battery life well above display quality for smartphone
i have clevo x7200 laptop. using intel 980x 6 cores desktop processor( desktop, not mobile processor), dual graphic cards, those thing have 330watts power supply. both laptop and charger weight are 10kg/22lbs. with full perfomance on, battery lasted for 20 minutes. a real nice laptop :D for about 20 minutes

[deleted post]Personally I don't play games on my mobile, only so 60 Hz (90 Hz) is fine as even sport is only shot at 60 FPS. And movies at 24 fps so as long as the refresh rate is above that I am happy. The video option of 120 fps @ 2k however will only be good to slow down the shot unless you export it to a monitor I guess

yea i can't even imagine what mobile games really goin... moreI watched a video of the sharp zero 2 and I think it isn't true 240hz
Whenever its put in 240hz mode, the screen gets a bit darker. I assume there is a blank frame every other frame.
I own a RTX 2080 (founders edition if anyone is wondering) @1440p I get around 60-75fps at high/ultra quality LOL (I prefer quality over frame rate anyways)
Same with Xperia 1II
I just want a nice pixel dense display. 120hz is nice, but I never had a problem with 60hz. (30hz is an eyesore)

Wouldn't ... morelol
yea i can't even imagine what mobile games really going to need 240hz screen? do GPUs on mobile processor really that strong? could head to head with nvidia 2080? if it does then yeah 240hz totally make sense
i know, that's why i said sharp phone has become really pathetic :D from what i remember foxconn is the majority shareholder on SHARP. so technically it's a chinese phone which is totally make sense why that phone exist in the first place, from the design, specs, everything
