Too much brightness, and oled goes bust.
It a "delicate flower" tech.
No wonder Sony keeps em at lower max brightness levels.

PS. Wife got fed up with ch/krn phone experimenting, is back to Sony. Got herself a new XZ2 for 300€ just 3 days ago, just for the battery. Has a great good ol' LCD screen.

      And I forgot.. Samsung OLED screens are made on Canon Tokki machines from Idemitsu polymers and patents. :)

            Samsung EUV photolithography (silicon) is from: ASML (Netherlands)

              Debugging software that's new to android platform takes alot of work and time. Sony is working really hard on this phone (heard some employees are working overtime).
              Lets wait and see if their hard work pays off.
              Haters can hate once the phone comes out. (right now I just want to hear about positive things about the phone)

                  And you want people to completely switch to another phone when a simple option through software can give you lower resolution?
                  4k consumes lot of battery. Especially during gaming, it will consume lot of battery as cpu and Gpu will be pushed harder to produce 60fps at 4k.
                  Users should be allowed the option to switch. This way everybody is satisfied. Stop shilling for S*NY.

                        I do know that extra refresh rates doesn't add direct price, but you should increase the battery capacity and physical size of mobile. That will add the price smart boy. Also didn't I just tell you, that you can't enable 120Hz on 4K?? SD can run only 60Hz on 4K.
                        If you meant sony to provide two resolutions, of course they already have a different mobile called Xperia 5. If they enable both in one smartphone, what's the point of having two segments. Same thing can be said, to enable S pen on S20 series :) but you know, they don't. Though both will have similar specs and same price range.

                        When I said sony is not for everyone, I mean people who likes bulky design and gimmicky specs which is forced by chinese/Samsung companies through cutting edge marketing skills.

                        At the end, if you don't like it, it's not for you. Don't buy it. If you want to share information with others, share and argue with rational reasons. Don't argue over things like refresh rates and options. Sony is not dumb. Neither they are neew to this business. Also Sony is not one guy but many :). Past few years they have less sales due to their marketing skills. Just like how they talk only about new things and nothing about old features even though they are still unique and can''t be found in other mobiles. Ex: BT.2020

And Sharp R serie... moreit's getting OOT. i'm starting looking at sony since sharp released the R series, i much prefer their older series design to R series, it's personal preference i supposed. but that sharp aquos zero 2 is not bad at least in term of design, much prefer that to R series, also people that really craving for display quality and trashing sony product page might want to check that phone out, at least on specs seems promising

                                Sharp's ZERO lines are still dope though. And Sharp R series from R5 is pretty good looking. And has a headphone jack too.

                                  Both of them cost the same. High refresh rate won't cost Sony anything extra. They need to unlock the refresh rate on that existing panel.

If i give you 60Hz and 90Hz separately and ask you to tell the difference, you will not even able to tell the difference lol.
