Or Fidelio X2HR around $100 or ATH-MSR7 around $200 or HD600 around $250 or HD650 around $300 or even better MDR-7520 around $300 or Hi-Fi Man Sundara around $350 or HD660S around $450 and list goes on. But just don't try ATH-M50x or DT770Pro as they are not as accurate and detailed as the ones I listed above.

Compare Both XPERIA 1 II against LG V60 or if you don't have access to them compare XPERIA XZ Premium to LG V40 and you will understand the difference. It is clearly noticeable and you won't have to put lot of effort to notice the difference.

Front Facing speakers try them out they are the most clear sounding ones available in the market.

Sony should fire they guy that did the default tuning for speakers on Xperia 1 II ASAP.

Sony is not using any decent DAC for ages now.
        3) No, you get much better speakers out of ... lets say Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G. Well we are on GSM, you can check it out yourself.
Xiaomi does not even need botched Atmos implementation to sound ... usable.

You are answering yourself. He never said anything about it being wider did he. What he said is that XPERIA 1 II is larger than XPERIA 5. What you are saying is that it is not wider but it is taller. Being taller than XPERIA 5 makes it larger as the overall size increases let it be length or width, not compulsory to increase both ways to be qualified to be called larger.

Since smartphones have already grown up hugely and they are coming with even 5 cameras, 3 of them are just numbers and gimmick, why not we demand a classic format rather than 4:3 boxy sensors? there are already 1/1.3" sensors and they are aiming at 1" sensors, we can't resist them. but we can go for a better format.

It has grown up vertically, not horizontally or proportionately at all. The 4K screen consumes most of the power here. keep in mind

I have already mentioned here about 1/1.5" (still not the largest one) but in a different format, 3:2 6000X4000 24MP, Pixel pitch will be around 1.3micron - 1.4micron. Current camera's software should include 3:2 mode also. hope you understand.

I can afford it without any stress for my budget.
Plan to buy an Alpha camera later. Will be tinkering with manual controls all day long. Plus I want a bigger phone.

If that was the case why would SONY still be spending that much into R&D for XPERIA devices. If that was the case SONY would have completely abandoned the XPERIA lineup and stop selling them and end the production.

You make no sense. Truth is that we so called "SONY Fans" are right in this matter. As SONY not only stopped making ads for XPERIA but it stopped making ads for even TVs and everything. Only for a last a year or two we are seeing the ads for TVs after a good 5-6yrs break. And the jump in SONY TV sales can tell you that ads and marketing does matter.

There is a reason why Sony has been selling fewer and fewer phones since 2014. And it's not due to a 'lack of marketing' as Xperia fans claim.

The fact is that Sony doesn't care. It makes plenty of money from selling games, movies and professional cameras. Xperia phones are just a side hobby for Sony.

We will have the same old conversation again, when Sony financial reports come out next year and the Xperia fans wonder why sales numbers are unimpressive, how dare the Apple/Samsung fans not recognize how wonderful Xperia phones are, Sony should do more marketing etc.

By the way, Sony should consider further reducing costs by installing stock Android, forget about putting on a Sony Android skin. I understand that Google Photos is now the default preinstalled photo album app on the Xperia 1ii. Might as well replace the preinstalled Swiftkey (owned by Microsoft) with GBoard too.
