Zalias, 29 Jun 2020Usually au is the cheaper provider. This explains why it's ... moreHey Zalias,

Could you tell which shops in Akihabara you saw the International Xperia 1 II? Does it cover all the 4G/5G bands used here in Japan?
Did you buy one or did you go with au/docomo?

I'm thinking about buying one, but I don't want au/docomo due to the bloatware and possibly the locked bootloader (bad experience with an au/KDDI Samsung Galaxy s3 in the past).
Or an LG V60. I'm considering both options, but the Xperia has me most intrigued.

    Cheers, mate.

            So classy.! ;)

In my jeans, My Xperia 1 II can go completely in and I still have some space around 1" left. I could share my jeans picture with you with the phone if you want. I feel like you are exaggerating things a little up. All flagships (including Samsung, OP and Apple) are big, I get that. But saying only Xperia 1/5 is BIGGE/TALLER is just bs. That 21:9 makes you feel like it is taller but the height of Xperia is similar to other flagships. Now I'm getting tired of this conversation. Please stop. If people want compact smartphones, they will not even look for smartphones bigger than 6". Period.

Xperia 1 is a lot taller than iPhone Max.

Edit: Oh the Max as tall as Xperia 5 :D
                Lucky you.

Definitely the Xperia 1 might be a challenge but I can't see how the Xperia 5 will be hard unless your pockets are quite small.

When will the battery test be published?

Fearghast, 03 Jul 2020I really don't care to prove you something, I don'... moreThe thing is, dude, the smartphone industry is the highway adopting aspect ratio over 19:9 ratio in major scale products, like 20:9 (seen in Samsung devices) and 21:9 (mostly in Sony), with the most adopted reasons was for "cinematic immerse & experience", and begin moving away from traditional aspect ratios like 16:9 and even the former trendy 18:9 in a major scale after years all OEMs embraced these aspect ratios and the only handful of phones released with 16:9 or 18:9 in 2020, let alone next 1-2 years. iPhone SE (2020) is a few exceptions, but that it could be the very last to have a traditional aspect ratio on the market.

And here I'm not even mentioning the last flagships to have 16:9 (which's Nokia 8 Sirocco and XZ2 Premium) and 18:9, industry-standard proper aspect ratio for multimedia (4:3, 16:9 and 21:9), and compact-sized flagship existence at the moment (S10e being one of the last of its breed). iPhone SE (2020) counted as mid-ranger as some specs aren't par with their iPhone 11 siblings.

If you are thinking I am criticising only Sony, it's your limited experience. I am criticising 21:9 aspect ration that does not make sense for a mobile phone.
                          So stop whining? Never.
When you stop whining and stop criticize stupid decision manufacturers do ... you get exactly to a point we are now.
Sony started to backpaddling with Xperia 1 II, backpaddling to a better device than they released before, backpaddling in the righ direction ...

I think it will be better suited for him in both size and performance. High end Features will be missing but at-least he will be getting Apple smoothness and reliability over time. iPhone 11 Pro is also good to be considered if you need high end features but the size will be larger than iPhones SE.
