Fearghast, 11 Jun 2020It is useless but the difference is not "slightly".
Don't... more>>4K is useless on a 6,5" screen - being amoled with pentile does not change a thing - it's useless, you can't see it, it's battery hog, most of the content and apps don't even use 4K on Xperia, there is no resolution options app by app basis etc.
>>On 10" distance 4K is useless as you can't tell difference between 2K or a 4K on a 6,5" screen.
Seems you skipped your math classes.
There hasn't ever been a smartphone with a true 4k display.
Xperia XZ Premium only has 16million dots while it has to be 24 to be a 4k display.
Xperia X1 and X1 II have 12 million dots which makes their native resolution equal to 2k.
Samsung S20 has 9 millon dots which is equal to FullHD+ display.
LG G6 has 12 millon dots and it's a 2k display.
While I totally agree there is no point in 4k on a cellphone, YOU don't understand there is NO 4k on the latest Xperias, they sport native 2k whatever the marketologists say.
And yes I agree to you, 60hz scrolls slowly and jittery, and I would prefer menus to scroll faster, but it's not a tablet where you have to see the lines appear on the screen as soon as you draw them. I'll only believe that having a smoother scrolling will bring deep satisfaction to people with mind deviations. 60/90hz BSI and native 2k resolution/pentile 4k are just perfect for most people.
At last I think you don't understand how the hardware works, repeating mindlessly that 4k is a battery hog while XZP with a 4k IPS and 3230mAh has same battery life with Samsung S20 with a 2k OLED and 4000 mAh, which you can check yourself on this very website.
High Refresh Rate doubles the calculations per second, while higher resolution on a smartphone in most apps except for watching photos and gaming won't add a single % to the battery consumption since 99% graphics on a phone is in VECTOR.

I'm pretty sure majority of reviewers have used all types of flagships including S20 Ultra QHD+. So I'm pretty sure they know what they are talking about. What I'm not sure is, without using a 4K screen on smartphone, striking it off by saying doesn't notice any difference.

Premium doesn't just mean Expensive for one thing/feature. As I mentioned in my previous comment, It should at least meet basic stuff like latest processor, display, camera, design etc.,. Since when people calling a high refresh rates TVs as premium flagship TVs???? Doesn't make any sense. Gaming TVs/Monitors were never a premium TVs.

With 1200 euro, most people will buy 4k tv, not this phone.
And tv's audio is much much better than those tiny speakers on this phone.

Don't be silly, you or the OS settings can always go to 60 or lower when it's not needed, but you can never go up on a 60Hz screen.
On 10" distance 4K is useless as you can't tell difference between 2K or a 4K on a 6,5" screen.
Not to mention watching a movie on a smartphone with lack luster audio and comfort.
I get there are people that can't afford a TV or PC, but those people are probably not paying 1200 euro for a smarthone either.

Most people are watching around 10INCH between smartphone someone can get closer example 8INCH.
120hz or 144hz HRR drain battery faster, which is the fastest one? If pay more for gain the weight of the battery then almost every flagships are around 200g or over it, it is insane if the smartphone heavyweight just for providing the slightly smoothness.

Sounds nice on paper but not practical. Premium flagships means it should be an all rounder (Camera, display, build quality, audio, design and lots of features which you don't find in other smartphones) not just refresh rates. I don't know when will people realize. Obviously high refresh rates are good only for gaming. And gaming devices can never be a premium device and vice versa.

Smithravi, 11 Jun 2020I'm talking about premium flagship smartphones like iPhone,... moreThe phrase you are looking for is "Well known flagship" not "Premium flagship". Sharp Zero 2 isn't available everywhere that's why it's not that well known.
Personally I don't like HRR displays too until battery life is optimized for it. I just wanted to point it out that they do exist.
