JetAsura, 04 Jun 2020the point is , thats china it wont last a month95% of the stuff you buy comes from China. China rules the world of manufacturing. Yet you think of their products as bad because on top of the best stuff being manufactured there, the bad stuff is manufactured there as well. You don't look at your good products and realize they were made in China because they haven't broken yet. Besides, what you don't realize is most of your Sony phone was manufactured in China. The phone itself may not have been put together in China, but the parts that could actually potentially fail if they aren't made right are from China. And they work.

Don't argue about something you have no clue whatsoever about. You don't know a single thing about manufacturing.

6.5 cm diagonal is really tiny for a smartphone screen. Did you mean inches?
The Xperia 1II screen is 14.6 cm x 6.6 cm. The diagonal is about 16.6 cm. (6.5 inches about 16.5 cm)
Let me know the dimensions of your V30 screen. I'm curious.
Make sure to check your units next time.

Hi, been using Sony for very long time, had M2 (for ~4 years) very nice and reliable phone. Decided to upgrade to XA2 few years ago, had 2 or 3 minor updates over all this time. Interface is boring. They even do not fix bugs like radio and proximity sensor. Have Samsung 50 as a work phone, updates every month or so. Some cool new features, tons of various customisations and etc. Sorry Sony, you do not care about the clients. Will never buy any Sony phone again. If someone thinks i am bias i worked for Sony myself. Different division, not mobile phones.

joe nodden, 03 Jun 2020Yep, 4K60, not 8K30. >>tell us about 1/1.7" sensors with 10ms full readout that came out in 2018 and allowed for electronically and optically stabilized 4k@60 without heavy cropping, 60fps exposure computing and 20fps burst photography.

                                >>Yep, 4K60, not 8K30.

don't embarrass yourself. only iphones, HTC and a few other brands could do 4k60 without framedrops until 2019, but they were unstabilized, and while the sensors were 1/2.6" not 1/1.7 they still had to crop into sensor since full sensor readout was still too slow, so turn your brains on and maybe then you'll realize that the reason even big cameras like canon, nikon and panasonic crop 4k30 from their sensors because their full sensor readout is too slow, and introducing 10ms full readout on a 1/1,7 sensor is so beefy you can't even imagine.

[deleted post]you're just another person who don't understand that in Hollywood they buy cameras that cost over $200,000, while the lenses able to resolve this resolution are worth even more, and that's only 5k and 6k; 8k equipment is only affordable for a few directors in the world...

and Joe thinks that a phone that shoots 8k@80mbps will make him more happy while even 4k screens are unaffordable for most population, let alone 8k displays

I honestly wish you had an 8k screen and watched 4k or 5k from a real camera like Arri, Red or at least Sony A7r3 and then tried the 8k from an LG or Samsung phone to understand what nonsense you're carrying over for the third day. If you saw that 8k from samsung on a 8k screen you'd stop blabbering about it not being a gimmick, lol

joe nodden, 03 Jun 2020Oh here's an idea for Sony. Don't use a terrible low res 12... morei guess you choose to live completely isolated from any information that doesn't fit your brain.

Did you know that Sony makes A7R3 camera with a 40mp sensor, and a A7S2 camera with just a 12mp sensor for better video in low light? A professional camera that costs a few thousand dollars, and only has 12mp? Go and learn about the reasons it's become so popular with videomakers.

You seem to completely not understand any technology at all.

What's good for video isn't necessarily good for photography. And vice versa. I admit, Xiaomi with 108mp sensor produces really sharp images that have ~20mp detail in perpixel sharpness, but that's about it, and only because current 12mp pixels never had more than 6-8mp of detail.

Did you know why FF and Medium Format cameras rarely have resolutions over 40mp? Because nobody can make a lens perfect enough to resolve all these megapixels.

And yea, we've seen this 8k from Samsung. I'm not going to do the work of finding youtube comparisons for you, but i've seen the 8k footage and I responsibly claim that any iPhone with Filmic in 4k can give better detail than samsung in 8k.

This is a complete gimmick; even Sony's 4k will and DOES look better than Samsung's 8k.

I will though say that LG's 8k video looks somewhat decent, but again, remind me please how many people got i9-9999k CPU, 64gb ram and Nvidia 2080 to edit 8k video. These can afford and do buy Red and Alexa cameras that shoot only in 5k because that 5k gives perpixel sharpness, and just because it's a professional tool their 5k will beat samsungs 16k if the latter will ever learn how to do that.

saved, 01 Jun 2020yea please tell us about 1/1.7" sensors with 10ms full read... moreYep, 4K60, not 8K30.

YogiBear83, 01 Jun 2020How do you want 8K video on 12mpx sensor?Oh here's an idea for Sony. Don't use a terrible low res 12mpx sensor! That'll solve the problem. Lmao. Or y'know, keep your beloved low res sensors, and just add a 40, 48, 50, 64, or 108 MP sensor to this dang $1200 phone. Because they obviously wouldn't be losing any significant profits off it when the Xiaomi phone that costs half that can do it. While still beating this in pretty much every area except the uselessly high resolution screen.
