I might buy this phone because of memory microxd slot.. Now days flagship phone don't have this external memory slot. S21 series, oneplus 9 series, mi 11 series. Good job Sony.

Aadil Mansoor, 14 Apr 2021Why Sony uses only 12mp Camera in its Phones, For Cine Alta, more megapixels isn't always better. Less Pixels = Better low light esp for video. This is why Hollywood shoots on 8-16 megapixel cameras for 4K video but photographers shoot on 30-100 megapixel cameras for photos. The main selling point of their cameras on xperia is how good the video looks and how quickly it maintains focus as well unlike other phones.

The specs are good,the 120Hz refresh rate is a good improvement over last year's 60Hz 60Hz refresh rate but sony should have provided high resolution cameras,bigger battery,under display fingerprint reader and thinner bezels the bezels make the phone look outdated. But overall it's still a nice phone.

A 12MP... moreLarger pixels are also better for video than smaller pixels. The intent here is that they are borrowing the tech from the Cine Alta line for improved video on mobile. While others are using slighter larger sensors, they are much higher pixel which is good more detail but it has the opposite effect for video. Higher MP = worse low light for video. The size of the phone sensors are so small that the difference in quality isn't even all that much better so this gets away w/ it for its application imo.
Now I do hope that in the future they implement something similar to the Vivo's gimbal cam/IBIS since content creators will def benefit from this. I love that they also put in the periscope camera. Hoping also that there will be some form of significant digital zoom and in the future I hope they finally tap into their walkman division to borrow their High end audio DAC technology for the headphone jack. So many phones now have a 32 bit dac built in thats completely wasted because there isnt a headphone jack built in unlike Sony phones.

No samsung, no apple, no one plus we will not be buying your garbo phones this year.... Because this has a headphone jack, flagship specs, high refresh, bleeding edge cameras, and everything enthusiasts actually asked for. And yes I would easily pay $2000 for a phone w/ a headphone jack~
