I have been using the Sony Xperia 1 range for over a decade. This one just tops them all! If you have never used the Sony Xperia range it's hard to comment about it by just looking at the specs and the price and then making an opinion .just like and android phone user would make about an IPhone without using one. This is a phone to buy and xperience the magic of this range of smart PHONES you won't regret it. I have already two of my previous models to my generations down the line and the phone has survived too date despite the physical abuse

That’s not good evidence as a person with bad vocabulary or grammar could be typing that. And whatever guess you might make, it would not even come close to my real age (which I will not tell)

n0-way, 21 Sep 2022So you are a kid right? And an android hater as we can clea... moreI literally meant that there were 2 year software updates and 2 year of software updates, which Sony provides, not 2 year software updates and 2 MORE year of security updates. I am not going to read whatever else you said. And I AM NOT AN ANDROID HATER OR IOS HATER AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE, SO DONT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS WITHOUT PROOF. Now get out.

Learn how to read little kid ; 2 years of software update and after that 2 more years of security updates {now I hope you can read and understand this} so this means that a Xperia 1 mark 4 user is set and safe for at least 4 years! Not to mention the Sony quality products that Sony users are used to it and knows what it is! So please stop been stubborn and point your opinion with evidence and be polite little kid! Not everyone here are easy bite.

They can't dedicate everything towards one phone most phone contracts expire on a two year period. Which means two years you'll have a new phone anyhow.

n0-way, 20 Sep 2022I think you are joking right? 2 years of software and two m... morei said '2 years of security updates (not to mention software updates)' which means there are both 2-year security and software updates. but you said '2-year software updates and 2 more year of security updates' which means 2 year software updates and 4 year software updates which i'm not talking about. go back to school and learn to read and write properly first!

Jemlim, 20 Sep 2022All of those premium features and ruined with 2 year securi... moreI think you are joking right? 2 years of software and two more years of security updates are reasonable! 4,5 years is the average time for a person to keep a phone till they will exchange it with a new one! This is the almost perfect flagship phone with great display, cameras, battery 🔋, SD card, 3.5 jack, and so so 8 gen 1 procesor! {seems like sony is pushing more and more updates to fix the problem about the overheating}! At this hour there is NO OTHER PHONE THAN CAN MATCH THIS! With the next generation 8+1 gen processor this will be the 99% perfect phone! 1 more year folks.. ..

All of those premium features and ruined with 2 year security (not to mention software) updates for an ultra flagship. TOO FEW UPDATES, DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!

Xperia 1 are considered as their highest tier model lineup, while Xperia 10 are considered as their lowest tier and it's bit cheaper. Xperia 5 is kinda in the middle tier, that would explain why their resolution screen are just HD not a 4k resolution.

I have the Sony Xperia 1 IV (purple) , a great mobile phone and expecting news of the new Pro around November. I take every top of the line Sony but I hesitate to continue the Series 1 or take the Series Pro. They are 6 months apart so hard to compare. The sound of the Pro-I was inferior to the 1 III.

So... I have been researching phones this evening. I'm not techy and rely on these kinds of message boards. When I am looking at niche brands and the cheaper end of the market, I find the information really informative. Then the flagship Samsungs and Sony's get spoken about and it's just a load of 15 year olds trolling, isn't it? Just imagine having a hard one for mobile phone brands. It's tragic. Seriously, get a life. Well done everyone. This is why we can't have nice things.

                            Ex.: 48MP cameras usually have a 0.8pixel size, compared to Sony's 12MP camera with a 1.8pixel size.

I have been supporting the only Japanese brand in Europe for mobiles for years. I am delighted with my Sony Xperia 1 IV and will be purchasing the next one next year.

This has a 4k display with a 5000 mAh battery but the Xperia 5 IV also has a 5000 mAh but only has a full HD plus display. Why did they do that??
