Sony at now is TOP-END for someone who make content for social media (like TikTok). Personally I met someone who recieve many world photo awards in international contents, and she takes photos with Xperia. You need just talent, device is on second place.

Had been using MK4 since June it's really not a bad phone for its size and weight.
I bought it as a replacement Samsung Note 9.
It's slightly toasty naked without a phone bumper case, which scores about the same as my note 9.
On the performance side it's okayish, as it does freezes from time to time on apps when first used, with the recent updates it had since improve a lot.
The cameras are overrated for amateurs like me, likely they are really only meant for professionals.
But it had a SD slot and a 3.5 Jack, which is a godsend, geez never know it can be such a rarity for flagships nowadays.
Also it quite an experience to see raw un bloated Android.

8k even if it was on a smartphone even the best hardware of today would suffer and struggle too handle a screen resolution so very high the phone won't be smooth if running at 8k

The fact th... morefirst, s22 ultra has 1440p screen. second, the 21:9 aspect ratio and 4k resolution is for cinema-like experience and nobody is going to watch a movie on a 6.5" screen when you can do this on a 70" tv. for everyday use, the 21:9 ratio combined with 6.5" diagonal make the screen too narrow to use it with both hands. sd card slot is an argument, headphone jack is for those who stick to the old days. shutter button is helpful too. but what do i need this all for, when the phone takes crappy photos with its outdated 1/1.7" image sensor size and its outdated 12MP (3000x4000 pixels)? the main thing in a phone that makes it premium is its camera and sony could perform better, instead it sticks to its 12MP ideology and brings almost the same camera hardware every year, except telephoto.

extremeiam, 29 Jul 2022Why other companies don't have the optical zoom lens l... moredon't look at the continuous opticsl zoom from sony. it would only be an improvement if sony managed to put some usable lens and image sensor. in all three categories (main, telephoto, ultra-wide) the image quality is bad. there is no detail, which is nothing strange when you use a 12MP sensor with approximately 3000x4000 pixels. sony gives xiaomi imx989 1-inch type sensor with 50MP and itself uses some old crappy 12MP sensors. i really cannot understand them.

Well, it has a great 4k resolution screen, but it only runs in 4k when watching videos. it has a shutter button like real cameras, but takes pictures that are worse than the ones i take with my galaxy j5 from 2017. i don't know how sony managed to bring out three generations with pretty no improvements. only telephoto has changed and the battery capacity. sony somehow loves to humiliate itself with crappy phone cameras. being the major phone image sensor provider, sony should be ashamed. my mate 20 pro from 2018 takes extreme sharp images in 40MP mode, something that many flagships of today cannot reach, especially sony.

Just got this phone few days ago. Very happy however the initial OOB firmware update did corrupt it, and i had to revert to newflasher and xperifirm to download the Generic/global firmware. After that it can be rooted without any issues software update disabled. BTW the camera still working after rooting no more messing with the certificates like before.
