extremeiam, 29 Jul 2022Why other companies don't have the optical zoom lens l... moredon't look at the continuous opticsl zoom from sony. it would only be an improvement if sony managed to put some usable lens and image sensor. in all three categories (main, telephoto, ultra-wide) the image quality is bad. there is no detail, which is nothing strange when you use a 12MP sensor with approximately 3000x4000 pixels. sony gives xiaomi imx989 1-inch type sensor with 50MP and itself uses some old crappy 12MP sensors. i really cannot understand them.

Well, it has a great 4k resolution screen, but it only runs in 4k when watching videos. it has a shutter button like real cameras, but takes pictures that are worse than the ones i take with my galaxy j5 from 2017. i don't know how sony managed to bring out three generations with pretty no improvements. only telephoto has changed and the battery capacity. sony somehow loves to humiliate itself with crappy phone cameras. being the major phone image sensor provider, sony should be ashamed. my mate 20 pro from 2018 takes extreme sharp images in 40MP mode, something that many flagships of today cannot reach, especially sony.

Just got this phone few days ago. Very happy however the initial OOB firmware update did corrupt it, and i had to revert to newflasher and xperifirm to download the Generic/global firmware. After that it can be rooted without any issues software update disabled. BTW the camera still working after rooting no more messing with the certificates like before.

They incorporate the new while keeping what's worthwhile keeping. It's a shame and makes no sense why Sony is the only manufacturer that does this

I am glad to have bought a Sony phone because their the only major phone maker who still have NOTIFICATION LED that is very useful to me during night time since instead of turning it on, I just have to see if the NOTIF LED is blinking to know if there are messages or not. No more hassle of grabbing & turning it on to check or use the battery hog Always On Display that could also cause burn in.
