And because it's Sony, don't expect it to be available until August or September.

I agree on outdoors wireless is the way to go but at home wired is the way to go and none in right mind can deny this.
It's also notable that wired sound quality is way better given the price. Worlds best headphones are all wired.

If I had money and ability I would release a phone without bluetooth. You're gonna ask "hey how am i gonna connect my wireless bud?"
Me: Well, just buy one with headphone jack! Just like you tell us "Well, buy our wireless earbud".
