If this is ... morePer Samsung's 4nm fabs, the 8 Gen 1 overheats quite easily. The chip's full potential can be tamed, but very few phones have succeeded.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro, for example, is a bad example. It loses over half of its performance after a sustained load on the CPU, retaining less than 50% of the performance at the end.
But not all phones lose control of the thermals like the 12 Pro. The RedMagic 7, for example, manages to keep the chip cool enough to retain over 85% of performance.

This phone is very expensive... Unless you're looking for a OLED 4k monitor for your professional cameras, I don't really see a reason to go with this?
It doesn't even come with a charger OR a cable, like...what?! Whats next? No phone too?

Anonymous, 11 May 2022i got a huawei mate 20 pro with emui 12 (that's alread... moreOur guy here is probably referring to EMUI 9. I remember using EMUI when that was the staple software offered by Huawei. I absolutely HATED that skin, it was annoying and pissed me off the entire time.
However, things have changed. EMUI 10 and 11 fixed all my issues with EMUI 9. And I started properly enjoying the software. And now, I'd call EMUI 12 to be a very clean and minimalist software skin. The lag has been fixed, the icons and interface look amazing, and the phone has improved in RAM management as well.
My favorite one is still OriginOS. I haven't tried it, but the visuals look amazing.

DMX, 11 May 2022I only read your comment until you mentioned huawei, wtf? w... morewell, the chinese government moved honor away from huawei to another company in order to avoid us sanctions. honor has now obtained a strong position in the chinese market and is a strong competitor to ohter brands, e.g. oppo. if you look at honor pphones, they are very similar to huawei phones (in terms of design, display and camera). we can say huawei lives on through honor.

Sony quite frankly should go with pure stock Android, it has already discontinued many Sony proprietary apps and replaced them with Google apps.
Even better for Sony: collaborate with Google to make Sony Pixel phones. Google lets Sony take care of the hardware, while Sony lets Google take care of the software. Five year Android upgrades.

Does the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 overheat easily?
If this is a problem, manufacturers should seriously consider putting the 4nm Mediatek chip inside their phones. The GPU is slightly worse but the temperatures are better.
