Anonymous, 07 Mar 2025Fast charging ruins your battery. Sony know this. You know that phones can throttle CPU speed and battery charging speeds to avoid damage? What scientific tests led you to conclude that this causes battery damage?

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2025Fast charging ruins your battery. Sony know this. The problem comes when you assume manufactures "know" everything for you.
Their first priority is to sell their products, which means sometimes their claim is bogus or unproven.
For example, I've looked almost anywhere over internet to see if fast charge really ruins battery life, and I found no proof; furthermore, there are too many different configurations/models / brands... so how do you actually accurately measure in order to prove such a claim?
My "guess" is that fast charging is potentially ruining battery *if it produces too much heat, but again it will be different as there are many types of batteries.
According to my own experience with fast chargers, it did not ruin battery; however, I noticed that some device gets hotter than the other while using the same fast charger.

TheSnowWinterR7, 06 Mar 2025This is ONE of the VERY last complete-feature package flags... moredoesn't matter when you have outdated hardware with ancient "fast" charging speeds, old battery tech, one of the worst software supports among pricey flagships. Missing stock firmware feature compared to competition.

Legend007, 27 Feb 2025This is so true when compared side by side, at least it sho... moreAs I said, Sony had to chose Samsung's most available-ready 1080p FHD+ OLED LTPO HDR display for 1 VI last minute as the community are pressuring Sony to adopt LTPO display and the QHD+ LTPO display at 6.5" aren't available outside Samsung Smartphone lineup (plus based on history, Sony only used 2 QHD+ display on its history, Xperia Z4 Tablet and XZ3, they really despise QHD+ as it feels "middling"), so they had no choice for 1 VI. There some unconfirmed rumour Sony could be returning to 4K display again with a custom LTPO HDR OLED, Samsung again for the maker, on the next Xperia. How do I am certain with these? Look at Xperia 1 V Android 15 update, it enables the option to turn on all-time 4K display (1644x3840). They probably developing this not only for 1 V, considering how Sony once implementing something, most of the time they put in all serials (ex: USB-C in 2017 Xperia, 12 MP in flagship and midrange, etc)

DamirE30, 05 Mar 2025Over a 1000€ for phone 12/256 where cable in the box is not... moreThis is ONE of the VERY last complete-feature package flagship you can find on the market right now compared to other flagship. It's the last one with:
- Front-Firing Stereo Speakers (Asus ditched them last year, the last brand to have it)
- MicroSDXC (the very last on flagship realm, and even mid rangers aren't safe as well, just look at A56/A36)
- 3.5mm headphone jack (one of the last remaining with Asus, Nubia RedMagic)
- pin-less SIM/SD card slot (the last one with Sharp)
- Proper Manual control for both Video and Photos
- No notch display, uninterrupted display without getting a way by the selfie camera (also the last one with Nubia, Asus ditched it as well)
- Capacitive Side-mounted fingerprint (one of the last-standing)
- Very few flagships to be under 200gr
- Very few flagship with proper camera button (not capacitive solution of Apple)
- Few devices to offer 4K@120fps on all rear cameras without exception
- The only moving-parts continuous optical zoom that was pioneered 11 years ago in Asus Zenfone Zoom but only survived here
- Currently one of few non-maximalist design in the market
You don't have to like the device and you can have preferences for others, but for those who are Searching a flagship with those features I mentioned above, it is the last bastion one, they don't have any more choices. Especially MicroSDXC that is currently on the brink of extinct and that feature could be useful when there are no internet, device is broken, and avoided on deletion in cloud storage.

bim, 27 Feb 2025the best phone on the market , Chinese phones are so outdatedSpeaking of Chinese, did ya know that just about all phones are manufactured in China these days?
Not mentioning about your bogus statement on Chinese being outdated, I'm neither saying Chinese is better or worse, just saying pick whatever the device you like, and don't need to be toxic about others.
I have personally used devices from at least few brands, and can say that all has its pros and cons always.

AnonD-1138744, 09 Feb 2025Vivo X100 Ultra 1440p screen is superior than Sony Xperia 1... moreThis is so true when compared side by side, at least it should give option to use 2k or 1.5K screen, people who don't want can set it to 1080p like samsung does.
It just my observation - this device feel outdated
