In theory, it should be easier for sony to provide 5 years of major os upgrade.
Why sony never do that? Because sony never care about the customers.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2025There's literally no Sony shop close to my location.Yeah. Sony fans would say "Ferrari store is also rare". They forget ferrari gives much better support to the customers compared to most other brands.

Unlike sony. With sony, you get premium price with worse support compared to samsung, apple, even chinese brands.

Standard google phones are tied to google services; therefore, blocking all google system apps can cause some issue.
In addition to that, most normies won't bother spending much time trying to configure stuff like that.
Therefore (as I said previously) it would be easier to flash an AOSP base custom rom as they don't include google proprietary services by default.

But th... moreSo you prefer getting tricked and wasting your time with law cases ?I guess you don't like xperia phones if you ask for long term scams ,oops I mean updates.Check how happy apple users are.So happy, they had to start a lawsuit .:D Learn the basic things around computers and smartphones and you gone see exactly what I mean.

I'm a Big fan of Xperia phones Since Xperia ZR. But this phone has shorter android update and the price is $1044 for 512GB Version? To expensive with shorter android updates. Sony should update their phone for five to seven years of android updates, or even more than that.

People buy apple and samsung ,because someone famous did it,or because Kate got one,not because they are actually good products.Same reason as why phone manufacturers are doing the ,,long support'' marketing trick.Sheeps like yourself allow this to be easily done and when someone exposes the manufacturer and shows proves of the wrongdoing ,they just say that they did it for their customers (not because their sh"tty hardware can't last longer than 2 years). What happens next is explained in the link that i've left for you. It's a good idea to get into hardware and software ,before trying to sound smart under a phone thread ,otherwise your opinion is irrelevant.

I will just leave this comment here for the sake of my fellow IT support professionals thinking about buying a new smartphone.

Today, I have been able to catch an unusual display glitch that one of company employees has been having for quite a while AND document it by shooting a 4k120 video and then selecting specific parts, saving them and attaching them to the ticket as evidence.
(The 4k30 videos that employee was trying to make with their device failed to capture the glitch, probably due to low FPS or insufficient optical resolution. I do not want to spend my time investigating the root cause.)
The user will be provisioned a new monitor this week and they are immensely thankful.

This is a second time in just a fortnight where Xperia 1 VI proved to be a totally worthwhile investment that helps me make money.

However, I will not be writing anything here any longer — because there are too many comments from individuals that do not know enough about Sony smartphones and/or cannot afford to buy them and vent their frustration through toxicity.
