Just got mine and it is mind blowing. I had iphone 11 pro last time. The finger print reader and the size of the phone makes it the most comfortable phone to use during this pandemic of course without sacrificing screen real estate. So much happy to be back on Xperia after Xperia X.

Gemini11, 28 Oct 2020I currently have a Xperia L4. I like the size but other tha... morei own a x5II and already checked as a kindle reader: at 60hz (120 automatically only the app permit it), B&W, the text is very sharp and clear, though the contrast has to be adjusted (my opinion...) if not using a sepia or black background. using vertical / horizontal is upon you, depending on the size of the fonts you prefer.

I currently have a Xperia L4. I like the size but other than that not much. It seems fine to read kindle books on. I wonder if Xperia 5ii will be suitable for reading ebooks?

It's so fun reading the comments of all those people searching for nitpicks and reasons why they don't want to buy this phone. I have a feeling, that even if the phone was perfect, they wouldn't buy it anyway ;-)

I have it for a week. It was hard to get used to the size of the device after almost 3 years with XZ1C but it seems I got used to it. Great phone, excellent speed, just another happy user.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2020The only problem is the 21:9 aspect ratio... I thought that too, but now when I have used this phone about a week, I see mostly just benefits on it. Almost all mobile content is in long lists, and with this ratio it is at it's best. In use it looks more like futuristic than awkward.

Screen separated and lost touch (and died soon afterwards), whole frame kinda warped... The compact 2 generations later had similar problems.
However, l'm looking into buying 5II as it is hands down best compact phone these days - just hope they improved durability of their designs...

Gemini11, 26 Oct 2020Is it possible to turn off the side button Google Assistant... moreIt's not that lifted from the edge, so you don't accidentally press it. Currently you can not change the function.

Is it possible to turn off the side button Google Assistant? Even better if I can change it to an alternative function. I am looking to get this phone on contract.

as for the versions of memory, it uses UFS 3.0:
https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/mobile-phones-tablets-mobile-phones/xperia-1-ii/articles/00246376
for RAM, I'm not sure, It could be lpddr4x or lpddr5.
I expect it to be the latter since it's quite a high end model.
